What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

Just some fresh ideas of the 2 breakfast meals I have rotated every morning for 9 weeks.

Real simple is a bowl of 100% Bran Flakes does not matter what the brand name is.

Bran Flakes 1 1/2 cups equals 220 calories and that is a huge bowl. I put in 2% milk which is 130 calories which is a total of 350 calories. The fiber in the bran flakes keeps me feeling fuller longer. I also put splenda on my bran flakes to sweeten it up.

The 2nd breakfast item I eat 3-4 times a week is:

2 Jimmy Dean Turkey sausage patties ( or 3 Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage LINKS) The all equal 120 calories and 7 grams of fat.

1 1/4 cups of ORE IDA Hash Browns 70 calories and 0 grams of fat made with Olive Oil cooking spray.

9 tablespoons of EGG BEATERS 100% egg whites 75 calories 0 grams of fat ! Use the 0 calorie Olive oil Spray.

1/2 cup of canned diced tomatoes 25 calories

You can add more or less 50-75 calories of egg or has browns

BUT THIS MAKES A HUGE PLATE OF FOOD FOR ONLY 290 CALORIES !!! AND 7 GRAMS OF FAT !

Breakfast is the most important meal and should be your biggest one to get your metabolism rolling.

I hope this helps someone. And Please post me some ideas I would love them or I would not be on here looking in this area for recipes  LOL !!

    Thanks Amanda

Great job on your weight lose.  I just started Alli on Sunday 12/14/2008 and I must say I am not as hungry and I thought I was going to be.  I am following receipes out of The Alli book and I haven't found one that I just love yet, but remember I just started 3 days ago.  When I find one that's to die for I'll be sure to post it on the message board.  I am definitely going to try your breakfast ideas.  And keep up the good work.

Welcome to alli!  It's a great program and I'm sure you'll do well.  It's great that you're coming to the message boards and taking advantage of this feature.

Keep in mind that it's fine to use your own recipes.  In some cases you may need to cut the fat a little; in other cases you may need to add some.  What's important is to stay within your calorie and fat recommendations, and eat a variety of healthy foods.  It's fine to have some "fun" foods too -- in moderation.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

One that I like is two whole-grain frozen waffles (low fat, of course) with 2 TABlespoons of Polander's allfruit on top (put it in a tiny ramekin and heat it up--pours like a syrup) PLUS half a grapefruit.

I am guessing this hits about 300 cals for the meal.

    ENJOY

I do the same and I love this. I also add applesauce on top instead of jam.

I like the Egg Beaters Southwest Style.  What can I say? I am from AZ and like things kicked up a notch.  For regular Egg Beaters along with the tomatoes try adding basil, delicious!
