Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

     Hey everyone,

I've been "going strong" for about 3 weeks now (phew!)... So far, so good.

For breakfasts, I make up some Orowheat whole wheat/whole grain eng muffins (and spread a little FF/LW Cream Cheese (used to be a bit of peanut butter, but I've got that on hold until the FDA clears it from the recall). On mornings when I have more time, I have the eng muffin with a cooked up egg.

Yogurt and a banana works, too. I gotta make quick AM meals that are quick grab 'n' go because I fly out the door to work. =)

P.S. Has anyone discovered the wonderful world of spray butter? I use it to flavor up my veggies, eng muffins, etc. and it's 0 cal/0 fat! Woot woot!

Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

     Great post!

One of my favorite breakfast is to scramble 1 whole egg, plus 2 whites and 2tbsp. 1% milk. I add some cracked pepper and dried thyme.  I use a sautee pan, spray the pan with nonstick spray, cook it on the stovetop until just set,(like an omelet, don't stir), and then add one slice of provolone cheese and broil it  until melted.  It slides ut of te pan, and I fld it in half. I have one slice of fiber one whole wheat bread, toasted with one teaspoon of regular butter. If my calories allow, I try to have a fresh orange with it too. I can barely eat it all.

Tip:  Soften a stick of butter on the counter.  When soft, use a measuring teaspoon and make little pats and put them on a plate then put them in the fridge.  when they harden, put them in a small bowl and keep them in the fridge for when you have toast, veggies whatever and you know always that you're only using one teaspoon.  It's the real thing (can'r stand the fake stuff), and it's good for people who are having a hard time reaching their fat grams.

All these posts are great encouragement to me ~~ as I have just started Alli today. I appreciate the ideas for breakfast because I'm really not the type of person to eat a breakfast that takes too long to prepare, but this all looks easy.

Jimmy Dean makes great breakfast meals also. They have an egg, cheese, bacon, with potatoes and apples, that is soo good.It has 390 calories and 19 grams of fat.Which is perfect for me.I don't have to worry about adding anything to hit my fat intake.Smartones has some great breakfast things out also.

Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

     Amanda/mwok2004,

Thanks for the breakfast tips. I have been drinking a slimfast or eating a mini bagel (110 cal-0.5 fat grams), especially when I am in a rush to get going for the day. When I eat breakfast from the cafeteria on the job, I have grits w/cheese and corn beef has which total 17 fat grams for that meal. Some mornings I have a bowl of cheerios w/ 2% milk.

You are so right when you say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I have noticed a change in energy since I have been eating breakfast. I still need to concentrate on fitting all 3 meals in with snacks in between.

With your tips given, I will definitely have to try the things listed minus the sausage. Keep up the good work with the weight loss!!

Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

congrads on the weight loss, I have only lost 15 in 5 weeks.

one of my favs is 1 REAL egg fried in pam. 2 oz slice of 97% fat free ham from wal mart, 1 cup hash browns, and 2 small pancakes with tbls spoon peanut butter, sugar free syrup.  comes to around 470 cal and 15 grms fat. I have this on a Sunday morning.

also like the cinnamon raisen english muffins, 2 with spray butter and 2 tbls peanut butter between all four slices. that is quickie to go.

or 2 eggs 1 slice ham fried in pam on 2 slices healty life bread for egg sandwich. I dont do fake eggs, tried them and dislike the egg whites as well, but they are good to put in mixer for smoothies if ya want them.

but I really like my big breakfast.

I eat out 4 times a week for lunch and supper, I get a foot long subway eat half for lunch and other for supper, and they are approved for this plan.

Re: What I have ate for breakfast and lost 22lbs in 9 weeks!

I really appreciate the breakfast ideas.  I have to agree with you about breakfast being so important..sometimes mine don't take me to the 9:00am break let alone lunch!!  I plan in a 9:00am snack just in case, sometimes yougurt, or melba toast with laughing cow cheese.

Wow thanks so much.  I just started alli and I like to brain storm my meals for the week, so knew ideas will be very helpful. If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the things you eat for lunch and dinner?

    Thanks,
