How do I handle out of town trips?

I have been invited to a bowling tournament in Tulsa, OK for 4 days.  The first night of the tournament is a buffet dinner for the bowlers. It's an "all you can eat" seafood buffet (crab legs, shrimp, oysters, etc) and, while it's not mandatory, it is "expected" that everyone should attend. And that's just the first night. There is also a Sunday brunch and a group lunch scheduled.  I'm scared to death.  How do I attend an all-you-can-eat affair and not eat for fear I'll experience a "treatment effect"?  It's 6 weeks away and I'm already stressing.  Any advice?

Re: How do I handle out of town trips?

Hi, I had to go away for a few days with work and was terrified but i stayed strong and ordered sensibly using my iphone to log onto the alli site and plan what i could eat.

At least its a seafood buffet so there should be some good healthy choices, just load your plate with salad and dont go back again and again, remember to drink water to help fill you up.

Use the website to plan your brunch, hopefully there will be fresh fruits and a choice of eggs but ask for what you want.

And dont forget to enjoy yourself, with alli it is possible to lose weight while still enjoying your life.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I'm going to a buffet for Thanksgiving, going to eat a really big salad, steamed shrimp and crab legs.  And saving room for some chocolate cake.

Keep an eye on portion size, and Carole is right, don't keep going back and back.

I've been on several business trips and you can stay on track.

I went on a cruise a month ago and you can have food all day long. What I ended doing was limit myself to breakfast, lunch, dinner. I made sure that half my plate was filled with vegetables. If you do end up going back for seconds, make sure it's for veggie or fruit. I don't think I lost any weight that week but I'm glad I didn't gain anything.
