    confused about posting

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have been trying to find a place on a forum to post my comments. I can't find a place to post my own comment. I see I can reply to others, but not create a post.

    Help

    Re: confused about posting

When you enable a subscription you will receive an email whenever there is activity within that post.

To create your own post, click within a thread and select "write a post."

    Hope this helps.

Is there any way we can get a map or some kind of step by step directions on finding our way around this site? It is very confusing. I can never seem to get to the same area twice. HELP!!!!

    Re: confused about posting

In each forum, at the very top of the list of threads is a blue "write a post" button. If you click on this you can start a new thread.

    Re: confused about posting

I don't believe the question that Midnight6326 asked was clearly answered, as I'm experiencing the same problem.

There is an existing thread that I would like to post a comment to, but there is no option for "Post".  You can only "Reply" to an existing post.  The thread is myalliplan forums | 50-something | daily thread.

Should I click on "Reply" to post my comment within the "Daily Thread", as I'm doing with youor comment, or is there another method?

    Re: confused about posting

    Anyar,

Within each thread, for example "Daily Thread", you can only reply to comments, like participating in an ongoing conversation. "Posting" implies that you start a new thread within the "50-Something" forum, like creating a new conversation.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: confused about posting

Thank you for clearing up the confusion.  Having been an administrator for "Calories per Hour" the term "posting" can represent different things on different community boards.

To minimize misunderstanding of this in the future, it may be helpful to indicate at the top of each thread, "To place a comment, click Reply".  I think this would avoid any misunderstanding.

Thank you for your timely response.

    Re: confused about posting

I've been reading this thread because I can't seem to figure it out either. I can only reply to individuals in the thread. I can't add to the ongoing conversation. I don't have a blue button at the top. I've registered for myalli plan but do I need to register to for the foruma as well? I can't even find a way to start a new post. Help

    Re: confused about posting

    blossomt,

Within each thread you will reply to the posts already inside the thread. To start a new topic, you would create a new thread.

    Re: confused about posting

Let me see if I can try this again.

I have to agree with the folks here.  This has been an extremely frustrating experience.  I'm not "web savy" and am unfamiliar with the terms that are thrown around as if it's common place knowledge.  Post, thread, blog, forum.... they all seem like a foreign language to me at the moment.  My goal is to loose weight.  Not to feel confused and overwhelmed by navigating through the support process.

If you could provide a simple introduction on "how to" do some of the things that are taken for granted (posting a question, comment or repling to a question) it would make the program a whole lot more user friendly.

    Re: confused about posting

I agree - this site is not very user-friendly for newbies.  I think it's just the format that's confusing.  Also, it seems to move very slowly (traffic) compared to other forums.

Is there a way to print an entire thread (topic)?  I see the "RSS feed" option at the bottom of the page, but that only gives you a printer-friendly option for printing one page of a thread at a time.  For a 20 page thread, that would take forever.  I even tried cutting and pasting, but the cut/paste function only lets you do one post at a time.  (Due to my schedule, it's easier for me to print some lengthy posts and read them throughout the day, when I can't be on the computer.)

There's so much important and beneficial info on the forum, but it's just not easy to access IMHO.

I'm sure I'm just missing something and will learn a few tips to make my participation more efficient.  Any tips anyone can share are greatly appreciated!
