Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

    birjest:

Greetings fellow weight losers!!!!  I am Marion from Monterey, CA.  I have been with alli since 17 April and I kick myself in the butt constantly because when my gut told me that I should do it, I didn't (due to friends telling me about the side effects).  WELL ENOUGH, I said.  I have a PT test last week of May and I wanted to make this change.  I brought the product, register and looked though the chat rooms and my jaw dropped hard.  These were actual people who actually lost weight.  Well, I added cardio for 5 days a week with a goal of burning 500 cal a day.  My cal intake is limited to 1600-1800 a day.  I started my weight in at 244lb at 5-11 and I have a goal of losing 15lbs by May 26 (my daughter birthday).  After that, I want to gain entrance into the 200lb club, so I aiming to hit that goal by September.  I have the will and determination to hit these goals, but are these goals unrealistic or am I on the right track?  Thanks fellas.

     birjest,

Love the pic!  lol...  very unique.  Best of luck on your journey.  And try not to work out too hard, slow and steady.... your body will let you know when you can do more.  All of your workouts will become easier over time as you build strength.  I think burning 500 calories is alot, but what do I know?...  I'm just the chick who crashed the guys' message board...  :o)   Keep up the great work!  Stick to the plan, it really works.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

welcome to the club Marion. Always glad to add to the group and you have come to the right place. I know what you mean about the whole treatment effects thing. But i can honestly say that because i stuck to the planand i still do i have not had one since starting. And no i really dont want to find out just because i am curious, i have read enough in the forums to know that those that stray are gonna pay. i think your goal seems reasonable but dont get discouraged if it doesnt come off as fast as you want. This is a marathon not a sprint and we will all get there some just sooner than others. Your goals are very realistic because i can tell you that i have lost over 40 pounds since starting in january and i am halfway to where i want to be. I feel better , look a little better and know that i am getting healthier. I making better choices and i feel like i actually eat more but it is more of the right things. I dont feel deprived, i think if you do that then you will be prone to going back to the ways that got you here. You can cheat or reward but just know that you can not take your pill so that you dont pay for it later. Use the journal , log your calories and you will see how quickly it adds up. Sounds to me like you are more than ready and will do just fine. Check in regardless of your day/week was we are right here with you so you dont feel like you are doing this on your own. Trust me you have a whole forum full of support.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Hey guys. Well it was weigh-in time again. I have to admit, I was pretty scared this week and not looking foward to stepping on the scale. Another rough week as far as diet and exercise are concerned. I thought I might have actually gained some weight - BUT - I lost 1.2 pounds! I was pretty surprised but hey, I'll take it. So I'm down to 257.8. I did notice that my belt has reached its last notch and a pair of my 38 jeans are a little loose at the waist. I think my mindset now has to be slow and steady wins the race. I hope everyone is doing well and here's to a great week for everyone!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Great job Ryan, My check in was monday and i am happy to report down another 2 pounds. I was actually under the 240 mark for the first time in a very long time. I keep motivated by dropping into the next 10 pound mark. So of course heres looking for that 229. And to think that is only 8 pounds away that doesnt even sound like a lot any more. I already know i am going to get there. And if it is 3, weeks, 6 weeks , 9 weeks whatever, it doesnt matter as long as i stay focused on what i am trying to accomplish and all of those reasons i chose when i first began this program. Ryan just wait pretty soon you will have to shop for smaller clothes, and man does that feel good. Havent heard from a few members in a while , thats okay- hopefully we hear from you and your progress at some point.  Keep up the great work everyone. willy

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Well i made it back from the Bay area with no added weight gained. I would consider this test a success. It is tough when you travel and are eating out or having lunch with employees, etc. I had a large number of dishes with chicken or salads. There is no comparison to what i would have ordered in the past. I wasnt able to exercise like i have been , but that is one of the challenges travel offers. Any way i idint lose but i didnt gain.   And just let me say for the record Dan you are very inspiring, each week you continue to lose and i can only imagine how you are feeling considering where you started from and to where you currently are and the thought of where you are going to end up and stay. Keep up the great work. Brad and ryan hope all is well and the rest of you, we know it is a busy time of year but it takes only a few minutes to check in. We dont judge here so let us know how things are going. Have you hit a snag, let us know maybe we have some ideas to help you along the way. This is not a thing you are fighting alone, thats why it is a club and why we all joined it. Talk to you all later.willy

hey golfnut , remember walk instead of using a golfcart and stay out of the clubhouse. hey- you whats depressing? watching that guy ron on "the biggest loser" walk a marathon. id get about 10 miles and fall over dead.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Hey Maniac, hope the foot is getting better. I have not used a cart all year and i carry my clubs too. I played 9 holes today and i shot a season best 38. I think my game has improved becuase i have more flexibility and my swing seems to be smoother. I also biked for 30 minutes today. And a hour walk last night i would like to get my 50 pound button by the end of the month. I did watch Ron walk that marathon, it made me tired watching him. I was inspired that he did it, i didnt think he was going to but he proved me wrong. You can still do some low impact exercises to raise your heart rate while you wait for your foot to heal. You have been doing so good and continue to post great numbers. I was wearing some 38 shorts that were too baggy and so now i will have to dust off the 36's next time i the the course. I thought 80+ pounds no way when i started, now i am sure i will get there. I continue to make good choices in what i eat, when i eat and getting my rest and exercise. I look forward to seeing some of our old memebrs hopefully check in again. And lets hear it from the rest of you too.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

hey golfer, i was just messing around about the cart. but keep up the exercise. i still walked about 4 miles last week and i cut cals, and i actually lost another 4lbs. i reached 125lbs lost on alli , but i didnt get another medal on my profile. you know its funny , i see the people on the biggest loser and they all look so much thiner, ive lost 143lbs but it doesnt seem to be that big of a change. i guess other people see it more clearly.  question#1--- how do you get that BMI ticker on your posts?   question#2-----did everyone move to a different alli string or are they just gone period, cause it looks like " the 200 club" is just about dead.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

go to the website listed on my ticker and then you can set up your own ticker how ever you want. Then under your profile you cut and paste and add it under your signature. Not sure what happened to the rest of the club, it is the busy time of year. Hopefully they will return and we get some new faces too. Great job on the 125 too. I am sure that you can tell some of the changes that have been taking place now. Your doing so good, I have been getting lots of feedback from people saying how much better i look and i still have over 30 to lose , so it looks like it is just us for now. Thats okay i will check in when i can. Keep up the great work.

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

    Hello All,

I just started yesterday (Sunday May 17th) with the meal plan, most of the recipes look really good.

Like Brian I too join clubs then I don't go, "it's like ok the weight is going just fall off because I joined"

The reason I decide to try this is that my quality of life is deteriorating my gout is killing me and the every morning it's another ache or pain, just plain tired of it, doctor visits, medications, this all needs to stop.

The other thing too is I have a 10yr old son and a 7yr old daughter that want me to come outside and play with them but when I can't throw a football because my elbow is under "attack" it kinda makes you think about not being a part of your family as they grow to be adults. This too has got to stop.

Anyhow I plan to do allot of walking right now till I can get the gout under control, since I can't hold anything in my left hand it's tough to work out.

I'm 49 yr old 272lbs 6-2" looking for at least the 200 mark although all the experts say around 180, lets not get to optimistic here.

    Good Luck to everyone!
