wow lots of new people, you go away for a little but and look at all of the activity. I have been a memeber of the 200 club since its inception and i have been an active member of alli since new years. I have lost over 50 pounds and i am at a maintain my weight staus due to lots of travel and i am just trying not to gain. And so far so good. i know we intially called it the 200 club as that seem to be the goal end weight for many of the guys that were in several forums, we never turned anyone away for what their own goals were, we welcomed all members with all end weight destinations. Not sure why impala man was hung up on the club name, just relax and particiapte and have some fun and contribute in a positive way. The bottom line is to be here and support and express good days bad days temptations milestones . welcome all new memebers and if there is one thing i can share, i have never golfed better since losing all of my weight i have so much more self confidence in everything i do from just 7 months ago. I still have 30 pounds to go and this program has given me the tools i/we need to be successful.

Hi Golfnut, nice to see you on here.  I've enjoyed reading your posts.  I started the Alli program two months ago and love it.  I have just started using the message boards and I added you to my circle.  At first I couldn't find stories on here that were like mine, then when I found the men's section, It started to sound more familiar.

That's awesome!  12 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks?  It feels good doesn't it?  We are about the same now.  I want to be below 200 within the next 10 weeks:  Should be a snap.  Stay with it!

    Re: Bicycle

Hey Jeff, you got me thinking and I found a great deal on a bike at a garage sale today.  I'm going to add this to my program as we have lots of great bike paths around here.  If you were closer I would've brought it to you!  Have you looked on craigslist?

welcome back golfnut, and hello to everyone else, i slipped last week and gained 2 lbs , but i got back on track and this week i lost three lbs, so im down 1lb for the last two weeks, not what i would like to see but my will is strong.

there is something wrong with the bottom of my ticker, the BMI numbers are ok, but the weight should read

      414lbs |       |        |        |        |         |          | 248lbs |          | 190lbs

166 lbs lost                                                                  good to see the club still alive

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Well...hello all.  I am Roger aka Voxguitar.

I am 59 years old  and I have been on Alli for 5 months and this is my first post!  I guess I have been holding out and not believing this could actually work for me but here goes - I broke 200 last week!  From 238 lbs., I  am now 199.

Early on I developed a simple philosophy - I simply wanted to feel good for the 23 hours a day I was NOT eating instead of the other way around.  Think about - when you are overweight and your pants are too tight and you get headaches and backaches, all you think about is losing weight - well, once you start you change you mindset adn you start thinkign abotu -- looking good!  I've got a 'before; adn 'after' pic now and I am so proud of my hard work.

So I just had to share!

My present goal is...undefined!  I'm going where this journey takes me!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

well i lost one lb, not so good, even though i started jogging. im trying to move past just walking and burn more cals. im just starting and i jog about a mile and walk another 2miles.  i bought a bike and i have to say its a lot harder than walking and the hills are a killer. if you have a lot of flat ground than get a bike, the muscles it works will help with walking.  i just signed up for a six week class for weight loss at kaiser , im doing it for the socializing  and to keep motivated. glad to see other people in the 200 club

Hey Dan, You've done so great on here, you're one of the people I really enjoy following.  You're weight loss really helps me stay on track!  If you would have fallen off after the first week or two, or even the first month or two, you never would've enjoyed the results you now have.  I know you can make it to your goal and so can I!  I love watching my B.M.I. drop with the pounds!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

great job Dan and everyone else in here for that matter. We are all here for one reason or another but the same goal. To be happy and healthy it doesnt matter if it is 10 pounds or whatever. I have just ended my 8th month on the program i am holding strong at 54 pounds since i joiined new years day. I have to admit the summer has been very slow but i have been maintaining. I plan on diving back and continuing towards wherever i end up. I do know that i have not felt or looked this good in a long time. I have that self confidence i used to have, clothes actually are too big and i was able to dust off the right side of my closet, the ones i refused to donate. we all will take steps back but continue to move forward and stay focused. No matter your reason for wanting to lose , bottom line you are doing this first and foremost for you and nobody else. The rest of us get to help support and celebrate in the small victories and slight set backs. Do not deprive  or you will be prone to falling off. Remember the pill helps guide you in balanced eating. If you know you are going to be bad dont take the pill, but dont feel guilty. Accept it and know what you have to do the next day, work out an extra 10-15 minutes. Have a great week everyone see you soon. Keep up the great work. willy

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

     hello zuma,

im back, i am glad to hear your following my progress, i have  been stuck at 246 for a couple weeks, im not overeating but im not exercising like i used to, even though the last time i went out i walked one mile than jogged the other two.   something i could never do before.  i think im on an exercise down time. i want to go out, but i tend to go at 2:30 am  and ive been falling asleep lately at 1:00 am      im taking  weekly classes at kaiser {manage your weight } to stay focused and back to writing daily food logs in addition to my daily activity logs.  i hate the thought of going on a 1 hr  walk/ jog every night , but feel great when i do.  the first 150 lbs are the easiest, the last 50 are a lot tougher. as long as a person doesnt give up and drop out, the lbs will come off. if it takes a year or four, just look at it this way --four years will get here one way or another, and you can be fat or thinner, --now if i drop out next week just disregard everything i just said---just kidding        DAN
