Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

I think you would be better off cutting something else. :) I have a 10 oz mocha every morning with my breakfast. :)

Something you might want to lower or cut would be "white" carbs. Potatoes, rice, pasta or breads are "high energy" foods. Eating them at night can sabotage our diets. Try reducing or cutting them from dinner and see if that helps.

Keep up the good work. :)

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

Hi Trecia! Thanks for the words of advice.  I'm pretty good about carbs and I rarely eat them at night - especially after 5.  It's amazing how different you feel in the morning when you cut stuff like that out...not bloated.

But I DID IT DID IT DID IT!!!  All that whining I did yesterday was for nothing.  I changed my excercise routine thanks to all the posts I read urging me to do so.  I took a cardio class and right afterwords I took an Abs class.  I also walked briskly on the treadmill for about 20 min. to warm up.  Got down to 159.7 today!  I feel great that I finally broke that barrier.  The best part was that my husband noticed that I look "very different" as he says and that feels good.

I am super re-engergized to take on my next 5 pounds.  Thanks everyone who posted with advice and encouragement!

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

Hi! I'm doing that "checking in" thing :)  Well I went on a girls only weekend and did just ok.  I was eating smart the first two days but the last two were very hard and my last meal there was fish and chips...omg.  At least the fish was coated in a dry flour breading, not a batter so it wasn't greasy at all.  I managed to gain 2 pounds in 4 days but I am hellishly bloated and didn't excercise the whole time so I'm hoping that getting back on track will take those 2 off in a day or two.

Crystal - are you back from your cruise??  How did it go for you??

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

     Hey Ladies,

I am back...we had a blast! Got sunburn, ate way to much and had a few too many tropical drinks...I gained 5 pounds...eww...but I really enjoyed my vacastion, and i will probably never have that chance again, so, NO regrets! Now I am home and back to eating healthy, for the most part...It is also my time of the month now...yay...so chocolate is really calling my name...I ALMOST ordered a midnight truffle blizzard last night....I asked my husband to go get me one, but managed to change my mind at the last moment...after all, I had already eaten 2 weight watchers oreo ice cream bars throughout the day...today I hurt pretty bad, but am going to try harder to resist temptations today (or at least limit it to 1)...I am soooo happy this is my LAST period...woo-hoo!!

Glad to see everyone else is doing pretty good!! I missed everybody!

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

     Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to check in with everybody and see how you guys are doing...I have 2 sick kids right now..my 2 year old is running a pretty high fever (103.) and my 8 year old has had the flu since thursday...I am hoping I don't get sick since my surgery is the 12th. I lost 2 of the 5 pounds I gained during my cruise, have 3 left but I am also out of alli. I hope to be back to 155 by ny surgery, so I only have to worry about maintaning during my recovery time..

How is everybody else doing??? Oh, by the way, I tried on some pants a few days ago at wal-mart, and I found out I wear a size 10 now!!! I haven't been able to fit into a 10 since before my last son was born...YAY!!!

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

Hurray, Crystal! Isn't that a great feeling?

I lost almost 3 lbs this week. My brand new "curvy" Levis don't fit anymore. I can now pull them off without unzipping them. I've only worn them twice, so I'm kind of bummed but on the up side I know I'm losing inches. :)

Hope your kiddos feel better soon. There have been a lot of bugs going around the schools in my area. Not to mention the pollen is awful!

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

Wow!  Everyone on here seems to be doing great.  I'd like to join in.  I'm just finishing my first week on Alli, but don't officially weigh in until next week.  I guess it's the day I chose!  :)
I want to lose around 40-45 lbs.  I'm like alot of other people on here.  I've lost and gained over and over.  I've never tried Alli before and hope this at least helps me get going.  I feel like if I can just get started, then I can hang in there and lose it again.  I really hope to make friends on here and help each other maintain--- something I've never seemed able to do. Counting calories and fat grams is new to me.  I've done Weight Watchers for years.    A little about me----I'm 47, married, have 3 grown children, 1 precious granddaughter who is the light of my world.  I quit my job a few years ago to take care of our granddaughter, but now have time to pay a little more attention to myself since she is starting daycare.  I've really let myself go and want so much to get my life together.  I want weight and food to stop being such an issue.  I want to have it under control so I can free my mind for other things.  Does anyone relate?  Thanks for listening and good luck to you this week.

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

     A little bit about myself...

I am a married, working mother of 3 (1 boy, 2 girls, 9, 6, 4).  I have been on the diet yo-yo for several years now.  The last program that I used was a success but was very restrictive and did not allow any fat.  I am excited about starting alli and hope that it will give me the extra boost that I need to be successful.  My current weight is 234, and I am hoping to get to 175 (about 60 pounds).  My first mini goal is 220 pounds.

I replied to this post a few minutes ago, but when I tried to post the internet decided not to work.

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

     Hi everybody!

Crystal - I hate to be the paranoid one but did you take your kids to be checked for the H1N1 virus? (Swine flu)  My poor kids are going to O.D. on hand sanitizer and soap.  We had 18 kids here at a high school who were alledgedly sick from going on a band trip to FL.  I happen to know one of the kids and he tells me it was all blown way out of proportion and no one had the H1N1 - but they closed the school anyways for two days.  Scary stuff!

Anyways, on to more relevant topics for this website.  Maybe some of you can offer me some words of advice.  I am a rockstar during the week - I have perfectly perfect days complete with the correct amount of calories, fat, protein, fiber, sodium and excercise...but then Sat. comes and it's like I can't hold it together.  I almost feel as if I'm entitled to a reward for all the time I put in to this during the week.  But then Monday morning comes and I always put on a half a pound or more sometimes and then I have to work super hard all week to loose that and then some.  It's like taking two steps forward and one step back...every week!!  I need to break this cycle.  And speaking of "cycles" - I just got mine and talked myself into a sundae last night at 10pm.  Now, it was FF ice cream, hersheys syrup and lite coolwhip so it wasn't terrible...but my hormones basically pushed my will power out the window.

Anybody have any tricks to keep on track over the weekends?

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

     Ya,

I brought my middle son to urgent care (he was the first one sick) since we had spent the week before on a cruise ship and lots of airports, he just has the regular flu, BUT, since we have been out of the country I was supposed to "quarantine" him at home. He went back to school today, and now the other 2 are sick...fun, fun, fun!!

Weekends can definately be hard...maybe you are to strict during the week and that is why you have a hard time on weekends...I know that on the biggest loser, on the day after they weigh in they have a "cheat" meal, then they have all week to work it off, they said it helps boost your matobolism and keeps youi from fealing deprived. And if you "plan" for it, it makes it a little easier to stick with your diet the rest of the week..

anyways, good luck to you! Hope this week goes great!
