I definitely try to keep my carbs under control but I think the big thing for me was to stop eating breads, pasta, rice or potatoes after 5pm. I fill up on veggies instead. :)
A typical day will probably sound like a lot of food. LOL
Breakfast: 1 cup Fiber One Honey Clusters Cereal, 12 raw almonds, 10 oz coffee with 1/4 cup Swiss Miss Chocolate (exactly 400 calories!)
Snack: Fruit Newton Crisp (100 calories)
Lunch: 1 cup of cooked chicken breast mixed with 1 - 2 cups of veggies (broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower) and 3 Tbsp of homemade Marinara Sauce (1 Tbsp = 1 calorie). A fruit, raw string beans (about a cup to a cup and a half) and a Hersey Chocolate Stick (60 calories!)
Snack: A fruit with some raw almonds or Jolly Time High Fiber air popped popcorn
Dinner: A protein (lean beef, chicken, fish), raw or steamed veggies and a fruit for dessert
You also have to remember that I'm doing about an hour of exercise every day. The exercise really does make a difference in how you use the calories you eat.
Try to eat as much unprocessed food as possible. Making your own food, fresh, gives you much more control over what goes into your food.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions if I can help any more. :)
