    Before and Afters?

I just started taking alli today, and I am looking for some inspiration.  I would LOVE to see some before and after pictures of people who have lost significant weight with alli.  Can anyone link me to some of yall's before and after photos?

    Re: Before and Afters?

Hey :) I just logged on today... it's been awhile since I've been on the site even tho I've still been taking Alli. I've actually kept a weight loss tracker to track my progress with Alli. I'm not sure how to attach a picture here but if you send me your e-mail address I'm more than happy to send em along to you!

     Hi Brody,

Would you send me your before and after pics? You had similar starting stats as myself...I started at 191 I am 5'3 and my goal weight is 120. I would like to lose 70-71 pounds.  I have lost 10 pounds in the 8 days that I have been dieting.

    Re: Before and Afters?

    Brody,

Your starting weight is close to what mine was.  I have lost 9 pounds but am struggling to get the fat grams in.  Did you start at 1800 calories and 19 grams of fat?  That's what Alli recommended for me.  If you did, what did you eat?  I would appreciate any suggestions you have!

    Thanks!

    Re: Before and Afters?

Hi and welcome!!!! Congrats on your 9 pounds so far! Yes 1800 calories and 19 grams is what they had me start at but I aimed more for 1600 calories with the 19 grams of fat. It is tricky at first but you will get the hang of it quickly...When you have a sandwich use real mayo or miracle whip to add a little fat. Use real butter on your light bread for toast or a little peanut butter with your vegees. It really is a new way of thinking and it goes against what we used to do for a "diet". Add a slice of cheese with your apple... I love cereal(any kind) but unfortunately I am still addicted to the bad ones Reeses Puffs, and Lucky Charms  LOL....  I also eat the fiber one chocolate bars, granola bars, cheese sticks, lots of fresh fruit with coolwhip and granola, fat free puddings, skinny cow icecream trests, fat free hot dogs, baked chips, 100 calorie packs of everything! Lots of frozen and fresh vegees(add vegee dip to increase your fat). I love turkey sandwiches on whole wheat pita bread, spanish rice made with 95% fat free ground beef, pasta add parm cheese to increase protein or even add a little butter to help with the fat. Hope this gives you some ideas, if you have ANY questions let me know I would love to help, and again welcome!

    Re: Before and Afters?

Thank you so much!  It is a different way of thinking.  I eat butter or sour cream and feel guilty!  It's nice to hear from someone who actually did it and had success!  Thanks again!

    Re: Before and Afters?

    Michele,

i noticed you got below your goal and are 5'2". i too am 5'2"; i was wondering if i should try to get to 115 lbs or 120? people tell me at 48 i should try for 120. do you think if i went to 115 i'd look anorexic? i have medium bone structure and was at the highest in high school 110 lbs. i know that's a long time ago, but wasn't sure what time frame to work from.

what kinds of exercises or exercise do you do now that you are on maintenance?

glad to see you still sticking around inspiring others. it's very helpful.

    Re: Before and Afters?

Congrats on your job.  What an inspiration.  I have been taking alli for two weeks and following 1600 w 17grams of fat.  I have always been below the fat grams and have only lost 3.5 lbs. in two weeks.  Could I not be getting enough fat grams?  Thank you.

    Re: Before and Afters?

     Nita,

I did get to 120 but usually hang around between 120 and 123... .... I also feel I am medium bone structure and look very healthy between 120 and 125. I wear a size 2 mainly... I would just keep ypur goals realistic and once you get close to your goal take a good look at yourself and how you feel and then if you want to give yourself a few pounds for cushion then you can... I really think for our height 120-125 is a great goal!!! Looking forward to seeing your progress!

    Re: Before and Afters?

     janlaw1,

Definitely could be a problem with not getting enough fat. The Alli pills will be a waste of your money if you arent eating the required amount of fat per meal. They only work when you eat enough fat and calories. It is hard at first but every day try really hard to eat enough of both, this way you will boost your metabolism, wont be hungry, and will allow the Alli plan to work for you! Congrats on your weight loss so far!!!!!

    Re: Before and Afters?

    Michele,

thank you for your help and information; very informative. this past week i lost two pounds. i know it won't always be like that so i'm savoring it and putting one foot in front of the other. trying not to overdo it as i have a tendency to do so and get sidelined with an injury.

thank you for sticking around and inspiring us.

    Re: Before and Afters?

Hi there!  I am new to the Alli plan as well. I just started yesterday (7/20/09) at dinner time.  I am excited, nervous and anxious to see if this tool works for me.  Thank you for posting your progress for the first week, and Congratulations!  Losing 10 pounds is a great accomplishment.  I am hopeful that I will have similar success.

    Best,
    Dani
