    Re: Before and Afters?

Welcome to the boards! When I first began Alli I just walked.... a few months into it (winter in NY) I did the hip hop abs tapes at home..... I also use light hand weights, swim, and bike ride weather pending. The fat intake does take a little getting used to but its really easy now. We used to believe we had to eat low fat to lose weight, so Alli is a different ... use regular mayo, or butter, add nuts, peanut butter, use some regular salad dressing on your salad! Yes regular salad dressing or (light) instead of fat free... Just make sure you dont eat too much fat at ONE serving... How many grams of fat are you supposed to eat a day? I would be glad to give you more ideas on the foods I eat

    How to eat w/ Alli

It's very difficult to get used to eating a different way. Hard to get the right amount of fat without going overboard. I was eating very little , and taking alli, not knowing it would not work as well. I get to the gym at least 3 times a week.

Im frustrated and want to loose so badly. I started at 211 and I am now at 204 after 25 days.

I will try the butter/nuts,ect. Maybe that will help.

Thanks for all your encouragement.  Alli should pay you!! :) Marilyn

    Re: Before and Afters?

I would love some ideas from you.. I love drinking a slimfast shake every morning..but it doesnt have the target amount of fat grams.. should i just have a handful of nuts with it? Im not used to eating so much..its hard to get enough fat w/out going over in calories.. we are supposed to get 18grams of fat per meal. and 1900 calories a day.

any ideas/suggestions would be wonderful..thanks for your time..i just wanna be successful!!!

Re: How to eat w/ Alli

    Hi Emily,

I am within 1 pound of my goal. I am 5' 5" and started at 160. I am now 129. It took me 5 months. I haven't found a good place to post before and after pictures but I've gone from a size 12-14 to a 6. I'll be 62 this January and the weight loss has shaved years off my appearance. I know that as you get older it gets harder to lose but I can say from personal experience that it's possible and totally worth it.

Things that kept me going: get a good digital scale so that you can see ounces. This helped me a lot because even thought it took me 4-5 days to lose a pound, the scale allowed me to see my success in tiny increments every day. 2) Find some tasty little snacks you can eat between meals, especially in the beginning. You don't want to walk around hungry, brooding about food. Take up walking...EVERY day! Even though I also play doubles tennis 2-3 times a week, it was the walking that really got the weight off. Especially my bottom half! Keep an exercise journal to record what you do each day and jot in other notes for yourself. Mine has some photos now, including before and after. It's fun to read back over my journey. I hope this helps someone.

Re: How to eat w/ Alli

     Ruby,

I am inspired by your e-mail. When you said you walked everyday.  How long did you walk & how fast. I have reached a standstill at 20 lb loss. I'm trying to break it. I'm already at 1200-1400 cals with 12-14 fat grams. I really do not want to eat less than 1200 cals. Do you have any suggestions????

    Joanne
