    Anyone experiencing nausea with Alli?

I have been on Alli for over 3 weeks. I had been doing fine and have lost 9 lbs, but now I am experiencing a lot of nausea throughout the day. I can seem to get any relief with crackers and gingerale. Of course, I don't want much of either while trying to watch my weight, but I am desperate for relief.

Anyone else experience nause? If so, did it sto with time? What did you do for relief?

Re: Anyone experiencing nausea with Alli?

    Hi Michelle,

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Is there any chance that you have a medical reason for the nausea? If you have any sinus problems or are congested those are possibilities. You can also take a look at any medications that you are taking. Some meds are very sensitive to weight loss and could be causing this side effect. Have you been eating your recommended amount of calories and drinking plenty of fluids? You can check in on the pharmacist's board here to see if this is a side effect of alli. You can also speak with your doctor to determine if there is a medical cause.

    Good luck,

Re: Anyone experiencing nausea with Alli?

Thank you for your feedback. I am on other medications, but my doctor had indicated that it would be acceptable for me to take them with Alli. I did not take the Alli at all today and have already noticed a slight increase in my weight. Is that normal? I am going to give my stomach time to settle down before resuming the Alli. I plan to give this a try again because I was really seeing results. I am a bit down seeing the scale go up again, too.

Re: Anyone experiencing nausea with Alli?

    Hi Mwilli57,

Your weight can vary up to 7 lbs in one day so don't be too concerned about the change that you saw. Take a look at the post that I have on the beginning of this board about calories for more details about this.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
