HOW long did it take to lose?

I am diligent with taking three capsules a day and watching to eat low fat items smaller portions and exercise about 3-4 times a week but am also very active around my place ( I have donkeys and chickens that need attending to ) I have been eating NO junk. lots of veggies . I have stopped having treatment effects... long ago and have been doing this 6 weeks now. I am patient and committed to another 2 months but WHEN does it happen??

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

Have you lost weight in the last 6 weeks? You should be seeing something, even small amounts, coming off by now.

If you haven't, you might want to check your carbs and sodium. Often when we start eating low-fat items but still try to reach our calorie goal we substitute carbs for the fat, which can be just as detrimental to our weight. Make sure you are reaching your fat grams. Betty Kovacs has a great article on that - http://community.myalli.com/forums/t/15130.aspx  Why you need fat to reach your FAT goal by Betty Kovacs and http://community.myalli.com/forums/t/18013.aspx  Why you need to reach your CALORIES by Betty Kovacs.

It sounds like things are changing, which is good. :) You might want to try weighing yourself and see how things are going. Body measurements are also helpful.

Are you keeping a food journal?

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

Hi there!  I just stared Alli last week on 7/21.  I am so excited and nervous about this.  I think your stats are incredible!  Congratulations on achieving your goal!  You must feel great.  I cannot wait to reach my goal and feel like I've really accomplished something.  Thank you for sharing your story and for this post.  For me, making myself eat 19g of fat without so many calories has been such a challenge, but seeing everyone's great advice on the Alli site really helps me focus.

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

I started Alli in April 08 weighing over 250+ lbs and in a size 22.  When I first came on the website in mid-May I was at 246.  Today I am at 134 lbs and can wear a size 6 which is amazing to me.   Stay focused on what you want to accomplish and it will happen by taking one day at a time.  You can do it I promise!!!

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

     Hi Pat!

Wow, you have had such success.  I'm feeling rather down today b/c I was doing fine this week up until Wednesday and then I started eating really badly and trying to justify my poor eating by thinking "the Alli will flush the bad stuff out."  I got some really good tips from someone on limiting my fat intake at breakfast, but my lunch has not gone to well.  I've eaten poorly three days in a row now.  I'm going to start "over" tomorrow and try to get back on track.  But thanks for sharing your story.  Congratulations on reaching your goal!  I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to lose like that!  I hope you are right and that it is possible.  I'm starting to get a little discouraged this week, considering all of my bad food choices.

    Thanks again for sharing.

    Best,
    Dani

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

You are going to have your peaks and valleys -- I certainly did -- don't beat yourself up because of some slip-ups -- you are going to have them -- just re-focus on your goals and know that you can do it.

This is not a quick weight loss program.  I have been on this plan for almost 16 months now.  And I am positive that it works.  I wish the website allowed for before and after pics -- then you could see positively that it does work.

You can LOSE whatever you want to - just re-group and DO it.

Have a great weekend.  Let me know how you are doing on Monday.

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

Loved to read your results Pat!

I started less than 2 months ago and have lost 19 pounds with very minor treatment effects, so I am/was extremely excited about Alli.

Something stranges has started now. I started my period 12 days ago and I am still spotting.  It is usually 5-7 days tops.  Have you experienced anything like this in your 16-months on the plan??

I am 44, but my bloodwork came back normal on my physical last month, so I am not pre-menopausal.

    Any thoughts?

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

You are off to a great start ... stick with it ... you can do it.

Sorry I can not address anything on your problem since I had a hysterectomy when I was 26 yrs old.  I would  call your doctor if you are concerned just to be sure.  Better safe than sorry.

    Take care ..... Pat

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

     Hi Pat,

What great results, I hope I'm as successful.  I am starting Alli on Friday  8/14/09.  I have been overweight for so long and have tried unsuccessfully to lose for what seems like forever.  I feel like this is my last chance.  I'm diabetic and eat good because of that so the watching what I eat shouldn't be a problem.  I've tried so many other things that I finally said why not Alli.

I am 250+ so i have a very long way to go, but looking for that first goal of 14 pounds.  I'll keep you posted and any encouragement is and always will be appreciated.  Good luck and progress to everyone here, I'll be checking in

Re: HOW long did it take to lose?

I have had great results so thank you for noticing.  Just stay positive about the program - it is not an overnight weight loss ... but a steady gradual downward slope which is a whole lot healthier way to go in my opinion.  I did not want to do the surgery thing so that is why I ended up trying Alli along with my daughter-in-law needing someone to go on the program with her.  I wish you the very best -- stay focused and you can do it.
