    fat grams

When I walk on the treadmill it says that i burn so many calories and so many fat calories.  What does this really mean.  When it says that I walked more fat calories off then what I  am allowed that day how does this effect my weight loss.

    Re: fat grams

     Hi Becki,

Keep in mind that the number of calories burned you see on any equipment at your gym, should be considered gross a estimate.  I would not put to much stock in those numbers.  The important thing to remember is that you should be working with intensity each session.  If you routinely work with good levels of intensity, it will help you burn calories at a good level that will help you in your quest to lose weight.  I would not worry if the machine says you have burned more fat calories than you are allowed for the day.

    Good Luck,

    Paul
