    Re: October starters

     hey Mom_Of_Three_Boys  ,

I would be delighted to join your group...i think i need, no i KNOW i need all the help and support i can possibly get!

My starting weight when i started this plan, last week, was 214. however, due to woman issues and bad food choices i gained *5* pounds..(which makes me as of two days ago 219... ugh).and my weigh in is tomorrow...it will be one week on the plan. I know it is a lifestyle change, and i do eat at times pretty healthy, but some days i have bad craving and i give in...and i hate myself for being so weak.

So i am intrested in supporting each other through this journey. we can help each other on those times when we do feel like giving in to food or are tempted by the tihngs around us...

    Re: October starters

Hi LeeLee and Ready. Today is day 3 and so far so good. I am nervous about TE's! I haven't had any yet, but yet is the key word! I have bad habits of eating after dinner and eating another meal ( Taco bel nachos or sweets etc) and when I am stressed I tend to eat more. That is a big problem for me. I have 3 little boys and I feel stressed many days by the evening lol. I am trying to find different things to do to get out of my bad habits. I am 33 yrs. old from TN and married with 3 boys ( 5,4,22mo). My husband is also taking online classes to get his degree and works full time, plus I will be home schooling my kids starting next year. I feel like I really need to do this for me, my health, my kids, and my family as a whole. My husband is dieting with me ( although not on Alli, he is using me as a guinnea pig first lol). After having my kids, I have had a hard time losing any weight. With my last pregnancy I had Gestational Diabetes and I am at an increased risk for diabetes because of it. I have been able to lose about 5 pounds ( in 2 years!) since having my last child, but I put it back on EASILY. I feel stuck in a rut just able to gain and not lose any. I really want to lose 30 pounds.

I need support and I am here to give it as well. Good luck and keep in touch here.

     mom of 3

im here for you! food is like a drug to me. i eat it when im sad, happy, mad, nervous, etc. Being born into a Greek family, food is the center of the world, haha. Im totally understand the eating after dinner thing. sometimes i sneak into the fridge at night and get the left over cake and take it to my room and eat it. i know, disgusting. it feels good for the 5 minutes im eating it. I see that ur from tn, im from charleston sc where southern food is abundant. i have a huge transition coming up in 2 days tho, im moving up to ohio with my boyfriend. with the move will come stress and homesickness which will lead to im sure overeating. i would love if we could be alli support buddies!! good luck on everything!!

    Re: October starters

LeeLee, I definately feel your pain! I have moved so many times!! We were a military family and probably the ONLY family that NEVER moved once while my husband was in! After he got out, we moved a total of 5 times ( in 9 years!) And the last 3 moves I found out I was pregnant like the week we moved in :-/ what's up with that I have no clue! Anyway I know how stressful moving can be especially long distance moves. We moved here to TN ( near Nashville) and all of our family is in FL and NY. It is hard, but what gives me comfort is we can see them anytime, they are only a drive away! Keep that in mind. It's hard, but you can do it! We re here for you!!! Check in when you can and know that you are being prayed for :) And just keep in mind, when moving things will happen, but it is OK.

    Re: October starters

     hey Maureen and Leah,

where do i begin. i have been a yo-yo dieter my whole life...i have always been big throughout my life, around the 200 mark. i am happy married to a wonderful man and we have 3 beautiful children 14, 13, and 4. And i am currently going to college for my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education....i need about 2 more years...it is very hard to go to college and have a family to take care of.

my highest weight was 245 pounds but managed to go down as far as 205...however, i managed to gain back10 pounds in less than 3 months...not sure why...maybe i thought i can eat like before and not gain...then i heard about the alli program and thought i would give it a try...the first week, after the 3 day eating thing before taking the pill, i was fine until i weighed myself and i was up 5 pound...i was very discouraged and wonder what did i do wrong....i stayed with in the 1800 calories and 50ish fat grams given...but i think it is too much...

i don't want to see another gain so i put myself on a calorie intake of 1300 (my lowest) and 1500 (my hightest) with 30ish grams of fat...but i am not sure if that calorie or fat is right for me...i did respond to the post to "betty kovacs's Fat and calories"  maybe she can help with how much should i eat....

enough about me....We as a group can do this!!!

take care all and keep posting...we need to motivate each other and stay positve!

    ~Ready

I don't know Leah, i think 1800 calories is too much so that is why i lowered it to 1500 calories and about 30 grams of fat...i willl wait to see what Betty Kovac says....i might have to push up my calories...

i know it is hard and very stessful to pack and move...but think of positive things that will enable you from eating all the bad foods...because you don't want to see a gain on the scale....my suggestion would be to take a walk...or write down your thoughts and feeling and maybe this will help alliviate some of the stress...please don't let the bad food take over by stress...use other methods...

I hope that might help you with your stress,

Please keep in touch and good luck on your journey...

you will always have friends (and that's the people on this board) even if you are in a new town/country.

    your alli friend!

    Hope

    Re: October starters

     Hi everyone :)

I am also going to start this month. I plan to sart taking the pill on friday so I'm a bit nervous. Being a college student and always on the run, it is so easy to just pick up a burger and fries especially since in the dorm rooms we don't have a kitchen. We only have a small fridge and microwave so I'm limited on what I can cook. Any meals you know that may be good for microwave and alli please share them with me. :) We have a diner but they usually serve greasy pizza and chicken for the most part. I've been sticking to salads that I buy everyday, but it's getting tiring. I'm also nervous about the treatment effects because I do alot of walking from classes and hardly any restroom breaks. I've also been drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice. I have a boyfriend that is trying his best to be supportive but I would like to find support from other users, likewise I will return the support. I am at 208lbs, and hope to begin dropping weight, my goal weight for now is atleast dropping 20-30lbs. We can do this! Need to fight temptations of eating junk foods! I'm excited for this new start. This is my first diet :)
