    Re: October starters

I went bowling tonight with my two sisters and my younger brother tonight.  First thing she said to me was, "Danielle you lost a lot of weight since the last time I saw you!"  I have not felt better than that in one year.  I can tighten my belt and have date to look forward to next weekend.  It's nice not living "under a rock" as quoted by my aunt.  2 lbs down since about the 22nd.  Thank you all for the support!  Everyone is doing great!!!

    Re: October starters

Wow Danielle you have motivated me!  I "think" I'm going to head to the gym.  I havent lost much, ALTHOUGH I just started my pills on Weds, but I feel I can do more to  help myself and I'm not doing it.

Hearing how good it felt to get that compliment from your sister reminded me of how good IT DOES feel and I want that too.

So, going to get my running shoes on and head to the gym.  I havent been there in about 2 weeks.  So thanks for posting!  You got me moving..I'm now changing into my gym clothes!

    Re: October starters

Hello everyone, I am a late october starter, having started my diet last Sunday and started taking Alli yesterday.  I have lost two lbs since starting the better eating and am looking forward to dropping about 125lbs from here to get to 145lbs.  If anyone has any tips or tricks besides the eating well, staying under your fat allowance and exercise, I would love to hear it!

    Re: October starters

I made it to the gym, did 3 miles in 52 minutes.  Then headed to the store to stock up on some healthier foods.  I also decided to go ahead and log what I ate, and I was surprised at how fast the fat intake can add up.  And I felt I ate extremely healthy today.  My calories was a bit low, but my fat intake reached my goal.  But, i think I can now SEE where the calories are and where the fat is, so I can learn to have balanced meals.

Okay, have a great week everyone...tomorrow is a new week!  We can do this!

    Re: October starters

    Jvega0523,

I am so thrilled that I could help be a modivation!  When I first started Alli I had the mindset that I would just let the pill do all the work for me no matter how long it took.  "I would stll be losing weight" I would tell myself.  When the numbers started to go down, I started to get this burst of energy thinking, "if I'm losing weight not doing much....I could lose so much more if I start getting active!"  This past summer I would delete every picture taken of me because I don't want to be remembered that way.  I saved my first two pictures of myself since May.  The complements are great and I hope you find the same happiness I did but seeing yourself in a good way is just as rewarding!  It is great that you have access to a gym but I hope that if you can't get there one day, remember that you have a gym everywhere in your home!  Great work and keep it up!  You'll get there!!

    Re: October starters

Better late than November, huh?  I realized that I have had my 1st package of Alli since the middle of August, and I was constantly saying... oh this is coming up I should wait until after that dinner party, or after that weekend, and then this morning I realized that I was waiting until after Halloween so I could what?  Eat all the candy?  Crazy.  So yesterday I said enough is enough, got online, planned all my meals for the week, went to the grocery and said goodbye to the old me.  Today is day 1, breakfast and lunch down, dinner to go and just having started this journey makes me feel better.  I am 213 today with a 1st goal of 193, then we will take it from there.  I figure small goals to start is a good thing!  I am doing this for me and my husband and the family that we want to have.  My doctor suggested that I lose at least 20 pounds before trying to start a family so here is to 20+ pounds and a future family!

Yall need to start reading these daily like I have just started doing.  It helps! and write in a food journal and count the calories and fat...I did really good with what I ate today, tracking my food is helping me learn WHAT I can and can not have etc.

Just checking in.  Hope you're have success with beating the "plateu".  I fully understand about not being able to find time to exercise.  I'm bad about putting everything first.  I did manage to swap out the desk chair for a 65 CM exercise ball.  Let me tell you I can feel it in my abs.  Baby steps!!!  Next week, I've commited to walking to the local school with my youngest 3 day.  He'll make sure we do it!!  Have a good one and best of luck.

Welcome Lenora we are glad to help any way we can.  I know all these others have really helped motivate me!

    October Gang:

I did make it to the gym last night again, but did'nt do as well as the days before.  I was aching in some areas and wasnt sure what was going on. I did a few minutes on some weights and then tried back on the treadmill again and managed to get 2 miles done.

Once I got home I realized "TOM" paid me a visit.  I jumped for joy realizing that could be why I wasnt the same at the gym.  I was also left with hope that once these days of TOM pass I may weigh even less! OH I HOPE SO!

Even though I went through that last night I still got on the scale this morning and was surprised to see 2 ozs down!  Hey, I know its not much but I was so sure it would have gone up with "this time of the Month".

Its been 3 days now since I started writing down everything that I eat and its calorie & fat count. And I truly think that is teaching me alot about the foods I eat and is helping me make the right choices.

I hope to continue hearing from everyone...this communication really does help!

    Re: October starters

sorry for not being on the board as much as i would like. I have been really sick and now my whole family is getting sick...plus i have exams that i am studying for. i try pop in once in a while to see how everyone is doing but the time of day becomes extreamly stressful and forget to post. i am still hear...and yes we can do this together!

I have a doctor's appointment to see what's wrong with me. I did weigh in today since it is Wednesday and i was suprise to see 2 pounds down from last week 215-2= 213...so happy. i have not been exercising because i am sick and don't feel like it...i will try to at least walk on the treadmill. plus i have to drink more water and less coffee...with cream and sugar. i think i drink about 6 cups a day of coffee and probably 2, at most, of water aday. i think i will aim on my water intake and try to move more and hopefully that would help knock out the cold...i hope that is what it is a cold..

Please stay positve and we are all in this together....and welcome to all the new faces...the more the people the more of a support system, WELCOME!!!

    chat later. keep in touch.
