our fat grams and calories are being rounded up!

    Hi All-

I log in my own meals every day and have noticed that the information I have input is being rounded up.  When I add a meal to  the nutritional infomation section of my " build a new favorite meal" section as having 95 calories and 4.5 grams of fat, It is actually logged at 100 calories and 5 grams of fat.

So if this is happeneing at every meal, we could potentially be eating much less than the required calories and fats we are told to consume.

We are told again and again how important it is to stay on target--Is this some kind of trick to make us consume less?

No wonder we are losing weight...

Has anyone else noticed this happening to them???

     Hi

I am researching some items you have in your favorite meals and I can see what you are describing.  I am not sure what  meal is showing as 100 cal and 5 g of fat.  I didn't see it in your list.  But, I do see items like bran muffin showing as 120 on the summary page, but 115 cal on the detail page.   I am sending off to the team that manages this portion of the site and will let you know response.

     Hi,

I confirmed that the logic is meant to round up.  So it is acting correctly when you see calories rounding to nearest number.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Re: our fat grams and calories are being rounded up!

    Hi -

I'm sorry,  I don't understand but the logic in mis-calculating calories. I undertsand that that's the answer that somebody somehwere gave you, but  In a program that STRESSES meeting calorie and fat requiremnets this absolutely makes no sense.

Is the assumption that everyone is going to overeat/cheat? Or is it a back-handed way to get people to eat less?

I'm curious as to how this makes sense to you...

Re: our fat grams and calories are being rounded up!

     Hi,

The nutritional analysis of food is not exact: for example 2 medium sized bananas will have slightly different calories if tested.  In these particular cases, the rounding was up.

I asked for further clarification on items that are entered entirely by you and not using the site's food analyzer for calorie look up.

I will let you know what else I find.

    We appreciate your patience.
