Prescribed Accutane and nurse told me to stop Alli

    Hi:

I have been on Alli for almost one month and I have lost 6 pounds so far.  I went to a derm today for my acne and was prescribed Accutane and the nurse there told me I should discontiune any meds that would interfer with liver functions.  Is this true.  I am very sad and do not want to stop Alli with my recent success.  I finally feel like I am losing weight and feeling good.  Any advice would be appreciated.

There has been recent talk about people having changing liver function and orlistat, to date there has been no link and it is still under investigation.

Accutane is  vitamin A derivative which is fat soluble, and therefore the doses need to be separated.  Your physician is the only one that can advise you about your specific question as he/she knows your  personal medical history.
