Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Hello ladies! Well I am getting myself back on track. This journey started on June 1st of this year at 236.2lb. I have not been trying to loose anymore the past month 1/2 and kind of eating whatever I felt like. I still have maintained my weight loss (well I gained a couple lbs, no biggie) and am currently at 210.4 (as of Monday)

Anyone else there jumping back on the bandwagon? My original group has dwindeled away and I would love to have a group of ladies that come to the boards on a regular basis :-)

    Starting Weight (6/1/09)  236.2   Current Weight 210.4

    (1st Goal:   200)   (2nd Goal:  170)   (Last Goal: 160)

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Im in :) this sounds like a great idea! We can keep eachother motivated so we dont fall off the wagon once again! I had started alli last november. I lost 50 pounds and gained 25 back recently! so aggrivating! But im back and thats all that matters. And im glad your back also! We can do this. Its only considered a failure once you stop trying!

Oh please count me in. My last Alli journey was back in 2006 or 2007. So I'd just love to have some extra help from a buddy.

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

I started in Aug, lost 5 lbs in 4 weeks then sabotaged myself.  I just got back into the swing of things and am doing the 30 day challenge with the EA Sports Active on the Wii.  We can do this!  My worst habit is snacking and not keeping a food journal.  I fool myself into thinking I can keep track of everything in my head!  Not a good idea!

    Good luck to everyone!

I'm in, I'm in, I'm in.  I'm guilty of everything you guys have done, and then some.  I started in June of '07 and lost 55 pounds and reached my goal weight.  Then last Thanksgiving it all started going uphill, instead of downhill, and I've gained back 20 pounds.  I just started South Beach diet yesterday so I can break my carb addiction, and I think I'm going to like it.  I'll let you know how it goes and keep checking back here with all of you.  Good group, thanks for starting it.

Count me in---- I started Alli on Sept. 10 '09, did great for a month, then my birthday came and I haven't been able to get back on track.  How can somebody have so many birthday dinners??  HeeHee.  I check in almost every day so I hope we can keep this group going.

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

     Me too!

I'm Shanna, and first started Alli I think in November 2007.  Lost 20-something, gained 20.  Started again in August 2008?  Lost around 30, and went on vacation in April 2009 (totally thrilled with my accomplishement) and then fell off again.

I just got on the scale, and to my dismay, am back where I started in 2007. UGH

I have been avoiding this website (and the scale for that matter) like the plague. I literally had to force mysef to get a grip and stop avoiding the issue.

I know this Alli plan works (and very well too), and I just have to commit MYSELF to the idea that this is going to take a long time, and just get used to it.

I would be grateful to have you lovely ladies as my support group!

Oh, and hi Judy! Seems we're been bere before....

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Hi Shanna, and everyone, yes we've been here before, and again, and again.  Since 2007 I have tried Weight Watchers and Nutri System and can't blame them for not working, it's me.  I'm on day three of South Beach and I feel light-headed and weak, but I read up on it online and I guess that's normal because your body is used to using sugar for energy and now it isn't getting it and is using your stored fat instead, which is a good thing of course, and I also hear you will adjust and you'll feel better, so for now I'm hanging in, (plus the fact that I'm 3-1/2 pounds down already).  There's plenty of food to eat on the diet and I can't say I'm ever hungry.

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

    Hi everyone.

Tomorrow is my weigh-in day and I hope my birthday "falling off the wagon" episode (which lasted 5 days---arghh) didn't do too much damage.  But I am prepared for a gain.  I have to accept that.  I work nights so I won't be weighing until the afternoon when I get up.  It's always hard adjusting my meals, working 2 12-hour night shifts, then going back to daytime shedule for a day or two, then back to nights for a day or two.  But I've learned to plan, plan, plan.  Sometimes I have to add an extra meal when I'm up for a longer period of time.  If I don't plan my meals, it's grab and eat whatever and that's not good.

Hope you all are staying on track and keeping motivated!!

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Can I play.  I lost 50lbs since Jan1 but came to a stop around the beginning of Sept.  I did not gain anything significant back but did have to go through the 10 steps again and now my alli counter doesn't reflect my weight since Jan1.  That is ok, I like www.fitday.com better anyway.  So now I am 'floating' between 190-192 for the past 2 weeks and just trying to get into that 180 range.  It seems the longer I go the slower the weight loss is.  I exercise, started measuring my food again, but it is so slow.  Is it age?  (I'm 47).

Next week I start a weekly yoga class to help motivate more stretching, strength...esp. since it will be dark by the time I leave work.  I think I am going to also try to avoid carbs after 6pm per an article reptilemom linked me too on another thread.  http://www.shape.com/weight_loss/diets/lifestyle_changes/healthy_habits/4_smart_eating_strategies

It would be good to have a group to check in with.  So deb_57, be sure to tell us how you did tomorrow.  Mondays are my check in day.

    Take care, Kimberly

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Hi there! I've restarted the alli plan many times also, do you mind if I join in? I lost 20 pounds last year. The holidays came, and along with it all the yummy tempting foods and treats, and gained back some weight. I'm hoping I will get this 25 pounds off for good this time around and get to my goal weight of 140 by March-not bad, 5 pounds a month and I should get there by then.

My weakness is sweets, especially at that time of the month. I'm doing well so far, I started the diet Friday and the pills on Monday. My weigh in day isn't until the 9th of November so I hope I see something for weight loss at that time-I'm sure I will.

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Reporting in on my weigh-in day.  Down 2.4lbs. from last Wed!!  Woohoo!  I've been really good the last 4 days watching my carbs in addition to calories and fat grams--which is tricky but so worth it especially if you've had a setback.  At least it worked for me.

I enjoy reading everyone else's journey----I hope everyone keeps on posting!

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Yeah Deb, you go, girl!  That's a great weight loss for the week.  I like this thread, it's a great motivator.  I'm going to check out that website about not eating carbs after 6 pm too.  The carb thing seems to be working for me.  As of this morning, four days into it, I'm down five pounds.  Now don't get me wrong, I don't like the diet, I adore carbs, but I must say I think they've got something there.  My daughter is on her 7th day of a very low-carb diet and has lost 7.4 pounds, so something about it works.  She is doing Dr. Atkins' diet and eating lots of fat, something I wouldn't do because of all the cholesterol, but she's only going to do it for two weeks.  Anyway, I say whatever works for each of us.  I (think) I may have broken the addiction because I can look at candy and pastry now without breaking out in a sweat, lol.

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Good for you Deb!  I am trying to not eat carbs after 6pm but am not being very successful at it.  I don't think I realistically can, I feel too empty.   Protein and veggies only just don't do it for me...   :-(

Re: Anyone jumping BACK on track? Let's form a Group!

Grizzly, you might try eating dinner later (not that I know what time you eat dinner).  I don't eat until about 6:30 or 7:00, and go to sleep at about 10:00.  I make sure I have a protein, vegetables and some fat, and I eat until I'm full.  It's tough to keep coming up with things for dinner.  On the South Beach diet there are recipes, but I don't like most of them, but it's do-able - so far.  Last night I got out the grill pan and sprayed it with Pam and set about grilling a heap of zucchini strips, mushrooms, and eggplant strips, which I bagged up after they cooled so I'll have veggies I actually like during the week.  I grilled some tomato slices too, but ate them right away because they're too juicy to keep.  While I had the grill pan going I did some chicken breasts too, and put a few in the freezer for later.  I ate a couple of Laughing Cow low-fat cheeses for the fat.  Tonight I'm going to have some avacado, I have avoided it far too long.  It's tough, but at the end of day eight I have lost seven pounds and no longer have the strong carb craving.  Of course, if someone stuck a cheese Danish or chocolate croissant in front of me, all bets would be off.  Stay strong, everyone.

    Judy
