    Supplements and Meds with alli

I have not had a chance to get to the Dr yet so I was hoping to have some insight here. I am currently taking alli. About a week now. I also take several meds and supplements daily. I have always taken my supplements/vitamins in the morning as some of them help with energy and I would not want to take the B Complex before bed! Also, 2 of my medications need to be taken in the AM and PM. I do not take alli in the AM ever because my breakfasts do not contain much/if any fats. I will list my meds/supplements below. Please tell me - to the best of your knowledge - if it is okay to continue doing what I am doing. Thanks!!

7am - Cymbalta, klonopin wafer, metoprolol, zyrtec, Vitamin C Time Released, B-150 Complex Time Released, CoQ10, Fish Oil (1000mg), Cinnamon with ALA, Vitamin E

    12pm - alli

    5pm - alli

7pm - metoprolol, klonopin wafer, fish oil, calcium/magnesium

Thanks so much for your help!!

Re: Supplements and Meds with alli

     Hi cheers44,

I can understand your concerns regarding taking alli when you are on other medications and supplements.  I am also on different meds, ( to many to list) :) and supplements.  So my best advice to you is to talk with your doctor, since he/she knows your situation and your health.  When I decided to take alli, I talked to my doctor about my concerns.  He gave me suggestions and also told me when I should take my meds so that they would be the most effective while being on the alli pill.  I hope this in some ways has helped you.

    Hang in there!

    Keep smiling ! :)

Re: Supplements and Meds with alli

Hi Cheers.......based on what you have posted, I do not see any major problems. The only suggestions I would make would be to move the fish oil supplement to bedtime and to add a regular multivitamin at bedtime as well. Other than that, I do not see any porblems with what you are doing. It is important to take a multivitamin on the alli plan - one that provides 100% of the daily values of vitamins A, D, E and K.

Hope this helps! And be sure to let your doctor and pharmacists know that you are losing weight with alli. You should tell them about all the over-the-counter medications, vitamins, minerals, and supplements you take so they can check for potential problems and take the best care of you.

    Best of health!
