    detox first?

Yikes! I went to a chiropractor today. He suggested I do a 7 day detox regimen (liquid) to alleviate some of the muscle pain I am having. After reading the instructions, it looks as if I'd better not do both Alli and detox at the same time. I am supposed to start Alli tomorrow and the detox wouldn't start till Saturday. I am thinking I'll lay off Alli during the detox but would rather have some expert opinion. It didn't occur to me to mention the Alli to him but did say I was dieting. I am wondering if I'll end up miserable and give up again.

    Help!

    Linda

    Re: detox first?

    Hi Linda,

    Welcome on board!

I am not sure what kind of liquid regimen your chiropractor is recommending but if the regimen contains more calories and fat grams per meal than the alli plan recommends, then you are better off starting alli a few days after you complete the detox liquid regimen.  Hope this helps.

Let us know if we can be of any further help to you,

    Re: detox first?

     Thanks for replying ,Sylvia.

The liquid appears to be an herbal concoction and is mixed with water to be drunk through the day. It is made by Arbonne. I will check when I get the product in hand to see if it has a calorie content or fat ingredient listed on the label. From what I gather, you can get loose stools from it as the "toxins" supposedly pass through either urine or feces. I was having some loose stools prior to starting alli and today continue to do so. I am fairly sure this has to do with some fresh spinach I ate in a salad but I am eating a lot of the wonderful fresh things available now. I am not uncomfortable.

My main concern is not to get so depleted that I give up.

    Thanks again, Linda

    Re: detox first?

    Hi Linda,

Glad you are taking advantage of all the wonderful produce we have during the summer - they are just wonderful.

I will do some checking on my end regarding the Arbonne product and let you know what I find.  Is the Arbonne product the only thing you are allowed during your detox time?  How long is the detox ?  I am just a little concern about your nutrient intake during your detox.  Try not to go below 1200 calories daily, otherwise you will slow down your metabolism and set back your weight loss initiatives.

    Keep the momentum going!

    Re: detox first?

Thanks for replying and all the help.

My UNDERSTANDING is that I can eat whatever along with the Arbonne detox drink. I will know more after my appointment today. My main concern was that I not add too many things to the mix that would contribute to becoming dehydrated. I already take  Benicar which is a diuretic.

I ate 2/3 of and avacado in a salad last night and so far no TE's. I added it up AFTER I ate (bad habit) and was all panicked thinking I'd made myself sick.

I think as time goes by, I will be less anxious about this and get into a routine. I have felt so bad and am so desperate to feel better and I don't want to mess it up. Some physicians think I have Fibromyalgia. I also am anemic, overweight, high BP and cholesterol, severe arthitis  (needing new knees), increasing scoliosis, carpal tunnel syndrome than didn't get better with surgery, hard of hearing and can't see too good either. Most of these can be helped by taking off the extra weight.

    Thanks again, Linda in Bristol

    Re: detox first?

     Hi Linda,

As time goes by, you will get into a routine and all the details will become secondary.

Here is what I found about Arbonne detox from the Arbonne International website:

Experience a cleansing beverage of detoxifying botanicals in this intense body cleanse treatment. The marine botanicals infused in this concentrated treatment stimulate, strengthen and support health and beauty from the inside out by assisting with gentle elimination and flushing out excess fluids. * Use 7-Day Body Cleanse once every 30 days. *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

No ingredient label so see if it contains any fat...I will keep looking.

In the meantime, try to eat your healthy fats along with your meals and alli so alli can be most effective.  Avocado's are a great source of healthy fats.

Keep up the good work!  We are here to help you anyway we can :)
