    Treatment Effect Question

I have been taking Alli about two weeks now.  At the beginning my stools were very dark and have gradually changed to very light with darker brown patches.  I've never

seen this before.  Also they float and someone told me this means my liver isn't producing enough bile.  I'm not sure I heard that correctly but was wondering if I had any

reason to be concerned.  Also should I take an Alli if my meal has less than the recommended fat grams?  I've been taking them with meals whether I have a high fat meal

    or not.

    Re: Treatment Effect Question

    Hi dsharon250,

Alli will change the color and consistency of the stool, this change is due to the excess fat that is present.  Do you also notice oily spots?  A cause of concern would be a dramatic change in color and consistency which persists, when you are not taking alli, unexplained fat in the stool. Do not hesitant to check it out with your physician.

Alli works optimally when you are eating close to your limit (between 15-19 grams of fat per meal) since it is blocking more calories, but you can continue to take a dose with lower fat meals.  Many people choose to skip Alli when their meals contain less than 6 grams of fat for economical purposes.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, that did help.  I thought you had to take the capsule no matter what for all your meals.  I've been eating very low fat and that may explain things.
