    feeling frustrted

     Hi all!

I love reading your stories...and knowing you are out there and succeeding!

I am on the plan almost 4 weeks and although I am not excercising (because I cant right now), I am only down about 5 lbs and I definitely expected more.  I have 50 lbs to loose so there is plenty to pull from!

    Re: feeling frustrted

hi..  its easy to say "dont be frustrated', but if you have lost 5# in 4 weeks, its going good, especiallialy in light of no excercise!!..2 things thay may help ..1.. measure yourself .. write it down.. keep a log ..every week or 2 measure bust, under bust, waist, belly area, hip and upper thigh and knee area.. measure your bicep area too...this helps me see progress when there is not much happening on the scale ( i try and work out or walk or bike or something every day)..and my second tip is to try and remember that you did not gain all of your weight in a week or two or even in 6 months.. so try to have realistic expectations..there is always someone to vent to on this board, and we have all been there.. All i know is,my  weight is not coming off fast, but i AM making progress..(hey i am old,,maybe that has something to do with it..LOL)..i FEEL better than i did 20 yrs ago and i have more energy..just having lost what i did already makes me wonder about how i will be when i reach my goal.. realistically another 10 months at the rate i am going..but i am making friends on this board and i know i am headed in the right direction..this is a lifestyle change and i am now ready for it.. this is not  a diet that i will go off of and gain it all back.. i know this for sure!!keep pluggin away and post when you need to..keep your chin up.. you are worth it!!  keep posting .. i want to know how you are doing!!

    Re: feeling frustrted

That's a fine weight loss considering the time frame.  That's about what I lost too.  Considering you're not exercising - that is GOOD!  Just think what it might be IF you were exercising.

I figure that the scale is at least going in the RIGHT direction now - even if it is slower than I would hope!

    Re: feeling frustrted

You know I think we all have those frustated feelings.  I am there right now.  I have spent most of July in the car due to vacations and other thing way out of my control.  I tried to stay with it and did ok.  I gained 2 pound. I never got got to the gym.  so frustrated Yes I am.  We have gotten to far to give up now.  So I'm on the go wagon with you sister!!!We'll do the 50 in no time!

Hang in there I'm going to.

    Re: feeling frustrted

     Hi All,

Well I came to the message boards today cause i am frustrated too.  I have been taking Alli for a month and lost 7 pounds, been sticking to the plan and have added plenty of exercise,  either walking or biking,  even tryed a little jog   in my step but very little.  and this week i had a 1 pound loss i was very disapointed.  I do not get anywhere near close to 15 grams of a fat per meal and wonder if I need to take a capsel  or eat more fat???if    I sure would like some feedback on what to do,   seems like with just eatting right and adding the exercise i should of lost 1 pound  dont ya think?

    Re: feeling frustrted

I am starting the plan today after dropping out of Weight Watchers.  I hope to do it right this time.  I think this site and seeing your comments is really helpful.  I would like to be one of your diet pals.  Is that okay with you?

    Re: feeling frustrted

I too have tried Weight Watchers, also Jenny Craig.  Now I am on alli.  I got off track for a while but am trying to back into a fitness routine.  So far my exercise consists mainly of using the treadmill, walking the dog and using my pilates circle for leg and arm exercises.  What do you do for a workout?

    Re: feeling frustrted

I totally understand.  I too never come close to my total gram count for the day and even though this is my first week on alli, i though I wiould lose at least a pound...and nothing.  Lets hang in there one more week.  I just gained 15 pounds in 3 months after finally quitting smoking.  I refuse to be unhappyly heavy !!  I will cheer for you this week!!

    Re: feeling frustrted

I was so glad to read the posts in this forum.  I too am not losing as quickly as I thought - lost only 1 lb the first week and this week got disgusted and ate what I should't have so lost nothing.  I'm back on tomorrow and hopefully will be able to do better.  Do any of you find this hard to track what you eat.  I thought WW was much easier to track.

    Thanks

    Kathy

    Re: feeling frustrted

Today is a rough week here too - so bloated I was afraid to wear my engagement ring today (but that is another story...).  But it is hard to see the scale change for the good and then go up a bit again.  I think that this program may be slower than others that are out there, but I think that slow is good - and maybe we will keep it off this time?

I just think that expectations need to be realistic and I am trying to keep myself that way.  I am hoping that this is all water weight...we'll see in a few days!

    Re: feeling frustrted

I can understand your frustration.  I have been on the plan for 4 weeks and have lost about the same amount.  I can't seem to get over the hurdles sometimes.

Like you, I have plenty to pull from and I just want it to work out so bad.

    Re: feeling frustrted

For those of you who aren't losing, are you weighing and measuring your food portions?

Are you keeping a nutrition log?

It really helps to do both to make sure you are getting the proper portions and also that you are meeting your calorie and fat recommendations.

Also, drink, drink and then drink some more water!

I have found using the everday health website also helps keep track of the calories and fat intake.  It's free and the listing is very complete.  You might try this online journal for your own tracking.

    Re: feeling frustrted

Well gr8bass how did your monday go a new start  I kind of was starting over again today after a one pound loss.  I have trouble tracking my food too. I do pretty good for breakfast and lunch but by time I get home from work I am ready to eat.... and eat   and eat   that is my bad time.  and seems like there isn ttime to get it all on paper,  guess I need to do better.
