    Manually entering your intake online.

I am trying to find the place to enter my intake of food online.  I saw a tab that says calorie intake and under it it says you have no logged calories.  How do you log them?

Today was my first day of Alli (without the pill) and I was quite ill so I did not eat as many calories as planned.

If anyone has info I would appreciate it, thanks.

Re: Manually entering your intake online.

     Donna,

You click on.... My Alli Plan >>>>>then, My meal log >>>> then, Nutrition log.

Just wander aroung a little while and you will get used to it. It takes a little practice to get used to it.

I deleted the pre-programed meals because I will not be usuing the alli menu planner.  I would rather just enter my own items. In time it gets easier.  Now I just log in and quickly add my meal, log off and Im done.

    Good luck to you

Re: Manually entering your intake online.

I do the same - I eat a lot of my own stuff.  Once you get all that nutritional info entered, it is a breeze!  It takes 5 minutes.  I find that logging the food is the MOST important part.  Then I print it all out and give it to my Dr once a month.

I am down 10.5 lbs in 3 weeks on Alli and 10 lbs in 6 weeks on my own prior to Alli.  Once I changed my diet (and I am sure the pills have a thing or two to do about it) the weight is just flying off.    Journal, journal, journal that food!

    Good luck!!

I couldn't agree more about journaling. While I don't do it online via Alli I do journal daily with my WW and it truly is amazing. I'm trying to convince my sister that journaling is the key -- she just doesn't get it yet -- lol!

Good luck and check in often so we can hear of your progress!

Re: Manually entering your intake online.

Just trying to clarify the difference in "journal" and "nutrition log"......

There have been many posts that you should journal.  I use the actual "journal" to record any problems I encounter such as meeting or not meeting my calorie and fat counts as notes to myself.

In doing that, I have found that when I have TEs I can see exactly what caused it.  For instance, I had a chinese lunch one day and had a steak for dinner - exceeded my fat count big time - had TEs the next day.  Some days I have slightly exceeded my fat intake for a meal without getting TEs.

I use the nutrition log to log EVERYTHING I eat.  It is great to keep up with all aspects of you intake...calories, fat, cholestoral, carbs, fiber, etc.  I find it very interesting and am battling with getting everything balanced.  I can't seem to get enough carbs & fiber without going over calories and/or fat intake.  I know that I have to make sure the calories and fat counts are within my range and usually have a hard time getting enough calories but do no have any trouble getting enough fat!!!

I started Alli on July 22 with my first checkin on Saturday, August 2nd - had a loss of 7 lbs.  I have not weighed this week but do not feel that I am losing.  I will weigh on the 8th to see if I made my goal in the 8lbs lost by 08/08/08 challenge - hopefully I will be down at least 1lb or more to meet that challenge and am anxious to checkin again on Saturday.  It is fun to see the charted weight loss especially if it shows a downward slope toward goal.

Didn't mean to vent so much.  Haven't posted in a few days so I got carried away.

Hope it is helpful and will give you some ideas on how you want to use your "journal" and "nutrition log".

Good luck to everyone - Carolyn

Re: Manually entering your intake online.

     Hi,

Today is my first day also and I also could not find where to log the food so thanks for your help! It is also a great idea to write down items in the journal, if it works for you then it can work for me.

    Thanks!
