this is my first day taking Alli and I am excited !

I started taking alli this morning and have had no side affects and have taken 3 pills today. I wonder when I will go to the restroom and when does it start working on me. I would love to have a buddy to talk to and go through this with someone. I have been on a low fat diet since March 2008 and have lost 50lbs by myself I am still 200lbs and want to lose down to 150lbs.  I am so excited to try Alli and I think it will work for me I have been on every diet that is out there and I believe this is the one diet that can help me achieve my goals.  stephanie

Re: this is my first day taking Alli and I am excited !

Hi,  This is also my first day.  Well, actually tomorrow will be my first day taking the pills.  I am nervous about the side effects.  I am glad to hear that you have not had any yet.  You should be very proud of yourself for loosing 50lb all by yourself that is impressive.  I just decided that I needed some help.  I am not loosing anything on my own and seem to only be adding on the pounds.

My problem I think is that after writing down everything that I have eatten today it does not add up to very many calories.  I don't know exactly what to do.

I would love to chat with you if you are want to.

Good-luck !! I start my 8th week today and have dropped 19lbs on Alli ! I have lost a total of 31 pounds since Feb. 08.  As far as treatment effects I have had a few and thats because of a few bad decisions while eating out BUT if you follow the plan do not worry. In 8 weeks 2 T.E.'s are not bad. Just do what it tells you and in 8 weeks you will be right where I am on amount lost !!! See you later !! Amanda

Hi amanda I have been on Alli for a week now and have not lost any weight. I am having real bad constipation and my stomach is so swollen. I will eat fat and have no side affects I should be going to the restroom. I was fine before I took alli and had no problem with my stomach.  It has now been 4 days and not having a  bowel movement. Is there anyone out there that is having constipation. I am drinking 8 glasses of water and eating what I am supposed to do.  Please  reply stephanie

hi stephanie - don't give up!  it sounds like you and i are on a similar schedule.   that sounds awful - i was going to suggest drinking water, but it looks like you're doing that.   go on the board where you can send questions to the dietician.   she is really helpful and extremely responsive.  you'll have a suggestion within hours.   you should be proud of yourself, you've done so much so far - keep it up!   i'd love to chat with you and amanda as well.  i always do better with a buddy!  hang in there and let me know what you find out.   annmarie

Re: this is my first day taking Alli and I am excited !

My doctor told me that sometimes when you change your diet; that you can become constipation. I try to always drink about 6 to 8 glasses of water a day and my new secret weapon is Activia. I never wanted to try it even though I have always had problems with constipation. but with the many problems with constipation and no amount of fiber helped, I tried the sugar free jello with Activia, along with the Alli program. I was just amazed.

I've tried everything including see a doctor who even prescribes medicine that did not work. I've never been regularly, but that Activia has really worked for me....I actually go everyday, which regular for one is only about once or twice a week....

Prior to taking Alli, I loaded my diet with so much fiber, that I may have been eating too much (if there is such a thing) but I did cut down prior to my diet and start with the Activia. I've been taking it for two or three weeks and I'm having so much success.

I would also leave this messge for the doctors on this forum...They are great at getting answers to your questions. I wish a better

Here's wishing you a better week and hopefully you can get the answers you need.
