    Re: feeling frustrted

    Hi Everyone,

    I am sorry to hear the damage that the weight loss industry has done. There is so much misinformation about weight loss out there. The truth is that losing 1 to 3 lbs per week is a huge success. Actually, not gaining weight is success by itself when you think about it. I like to use the image of weight loss being like a huge set of stairs. The only way to get to the top (your goal) is to take one step at a time. Many people spend their time staring at the top of the staircase and end up feeling like they are never going to get there. No one is motivated by that feeling. Try to focus on the step that you are on and don't look beyond the one above it. You know that you can get from your current step to the next one and that is enough. Doing this consistently will get you to the top of the staircase eventually. If you push too hard you will burn out. I also recommend that you stop and relax every once in a while. It's so easy to look ahead to what we don't have, but sometimes we need to stop and look back to how far we have come. So, sit on the step and look back to how far you have climbed and praise your success.

    Does this analogy make sense to everyone?

    Dont give up Lorrie   I bet your not doing nothing wrong.  keep on plugging away, at least that is what I tell myself  it seems to be a slow process and i want to see better results.  I wish all the thoughts of food would leave my head  thats the tuff part I just want to eat.  and then eat again.

    Re: feeling frustrted

     That analogy makes good sense.  I am just starting on my plan and already I am feeling frustrated.  So far today I have been doing good, but I am thinking about food all the time.  I stay at home and it is hard for me to get out so I am not getting alot of physical activity, so that's where my frustration lies.  I am going to focus on one step at a time.

    It is so great to post comments here, I feel like someone out there is actually listening.

    Thanks everyone...!!!

    Re: feeling frustrted

     Ugh...talk about feeling frustrated--I'M THERE!!! I started Alli on July 14th, have measured every single thing I've consumed, kept a log with everything I've ate, have stayed within my calorie/fat range and taken Alli with every single meal, I take my daughter for walks daily not to mention push mowing our yard and raking it weekly, haven't had a single treatment effect and have gained a total of 6 pounds! I don't get it!?!? I'm doing everything right according to the "plan". I'm constipated like a mother though. I'm popping laxatives twice a day to poop twice a week.

    Re: feeling frustrted

     I am just starting on My Alli (start taking the pills this coming Friday) but it sounds like you and I are in the same boat!  I can't do the exercise either so I'm hoping that between the diet and the Alli, that I can loose weight over time.  Good Luck!!!!! -- to us both!!!!!

    Hi Linda,

    I think your signature/quote is great.  I have bruises, too, lol.  If we were all perfect  dieters we wouldn't make it!! Tampabayb

    Re: feeling frustrted

     I am excited to be starting also.  I have one check-in completed.  I have done Weight Watchers in the past (I was actually a leader) and was very successful - but then lost my focus and bam! the weight came back!  UGH!  So frustrating!

    Re: feeling frustrted

    I think we've ALL been in the boat of gaining the weight back, and it comes on so much faster than it goes off---one of those unfortunate facts of life, YUK!!  Good luck!  Tampabayb

    Re: feeling frustrted

     heck - if we were all perfect dieters we wouldnt be venting our frustrations and spending our money on ALLI in the first place. I am right with you guys - been on Alli for one month and have lost 4 but gained two back.... I go from one extreme to the next (constipation to "ya know") I am pretty careful about what I eat and am taking the pill at every meal. Would love to have some diet buddies. I bought the large bottle from Sams so I'm gonna at least stick it out that long. Thanks for listening.

     SW=188; start date 10-19-08

    GOAL = 138

    Re: feeling frustrted

     I not sure I want to start this. What kind of affects bad or good do you experience taking alli? Does your system do weird things?

    Thanks
