Re: first day again

That's great! thank you so much!! :) I'm sorry I've been so absent! I haven't really been keeping up with this plan much lately.. coming back to school really threw me off. I have been to the gym several times though.. not as much as I usually did but still! Living with the ex is getting pretty difficult.. I'm trying not to let it get to me, and keep busy and basically out of our apartment. Which means I'm usually too busy to exercise when I usually would have... I guess I'll

Re: first day again

Heeey girl, It's nice to heaar from you! I was afraid you were signing off of Alli... That's great you're still pushing yourself! I'm at the final stretch of my Christmas break and I haven't worked out at all in the past few weeks. I got my wisdom teeth out last week and that very same day the bf came down and dumped me, so I was swollen and bleeding and sobbing and it wasn't very pretty. I'm still reaaally depressed and heartbroken.. I don't know what to do with myself

Re: first day again

Heey darlin, Yea I'm kinda running low on alli pills too.. the past week or two I almost entirely stopped taking them though just cause I kept forgetting until it was too late.. I have maybe a week left if I take them the way I should. We'll seeee. This is such a tough time of year to be trying to lose weight!! I'm going nuts!! hahaha I made christmas cookies last night after my exam to de-stress.. it's been so hard not to eat them up! I went to the gym today for a couple hours to

Re: first day again

horray for not gaining any weight! good job! I'm finding that it takes about a week or two after the hard work and staying to the strict diet to actually see it pay off in weight loss.. atleast that's how it is with me. I went home for the weekend and the scale said I was down to 193.5! Granted I probably gained back up to 195 atleast by not eating too well and not taking my alli pills, but still.. it's nice to see my extra hard work paying off. I can even start seeing it in pictures

Cardio affecting strength training?

So I've been going to the gym consistently 5 - 6 days a week for the past couple months and trying to incorporate a circuit of strength training every 2 or 3 days. Is one circuit enough? My other question is that I know those days in between are a break to help the muscles heal and regrow, but the cardio I do sometimes on the crossramp trainer shows the muscles being used so it caused me to wonder what affect it was having on the muscles I've been working on strength training. Is a rigorous

Re: first day again

Hey bella! You're right - there are plenty of alternatives to exercising while I'm home.. I guess I was just being defeatest :p So my weigh-in wasn't as bad as I was afraid it was going to be, but still.. the alli progress evaluator thing wasn't too happy with me! heheh .. I ended up at 197.3.. so +1 from last week. Not horrible considering the 3 days leading up to last week's weigh-in I hadn't eaten a damn thing! haha Anyway, I'm trying to do better.. eating better is

Re: first day again

Heeey doll! How was your weekend away?? I hope it was very relaxing and chocolates-free ;) This past week haaasn't been my best... I think I'm still reacting to the break up mess earlier. I didn't work out this weekend at all and I haven't been watching what I eat AT ALLLL ... I even had a donut the other day.. GAH!!! Anywaay, the scale told me so... back up to 198 :( I was hoping for maybe 197.. hopefully I'll make it back down to that point by my weigh-in. I think part of my

Re: first day again

Hey you! 3 down, that's great!! We're both on our way, huh? ;) My official weigh in was 196.. I didn't want to round down whiiich turned out to be a good thing cause I weighed myself again last night and it was up to 196.9!!! I was a little surprised it was that much, although I did expect to go up a little since I hadn't been eating and then all of a sudden went back to eatiing 3 meals a day again.. hopefully I don't gain too much more and can atleast break even next week.. So

Re: How important is working out??

I'm a big advocate for working out, too.. I understand that losing weight is going to be largely about crunching numbers and creating a calorie deficit, but working out offers way more benefits than just burned calories.. One of the reasons we're all overweight is because we have slower metabolisms which means our bodies don't use as much energy as all those skinny people.. going to the gym and strengthening your heart and building muscle is going to increase the amount of calories you

Re: College students, or anybody - Dealing with Heartbreak?

Big thanks to both of you - I'm slowly coming to that realization and am getting to the place where I'm happy just living for myself at this point. I never thought of them as "growing pains" before - that's a great point! The relationship was definitely having trouble maturing and so it will be good to step back and remember that we're adults and to sort out who we are individually. I made it back to the gym yesterday after a 6 day break, so that was nice. :) I'm feeling
