Re: Oily discharge anyone???

I've been on Alli since January 2009. So far I haven't had a TE, even with a couple slices of greasy pizza. I have had orangey oil floating in the toilet when I've gone to the bathroom, but Betty Kovacs (I think) said that those aren't TE. Don't worry about it. For the first few days wear a panty liner towards the back of your undies just in case. You should be fine.

Advice given

At work yesterday, one of my patrons shared that his wife is in the hospital recovering from a heart attack. It's a scary time for them. He said that his wife has been told that she needs to lose weight and he wants her to talk to me about my strategies. I told him that one of my weight loss tools is Alli, and that it's not for everyone. I said that they should follow whatever diet and exercise plan that his wife's doctor sets out and leave Alli out of it for now. Although I know how

Re: Sneaky Foods

The new one I discovered was cake mix. I know we can make it with diet soda instead of oil, water and eggs, but the nutritional facts on the box really ticked me off. Total Fat 2.5g* If you follow the asterix down it says "Amount in mix. As prepared, one serving provides 12 g total fat (6g saturated fat), 75mg cholesterol, 370mg sodium and 3g protein." That's right 12g fat for 250 calories. *sigh* I'm out of diet soda, so I'll have to wait to make cake.

Re: Anyone have a cheat day?

In general, I don't have cheat days, but when I do they're saved for vacations and special occasions. They're not real cheat days either. They're just days where I don't worry so much about making the very healthiest decisions I can. I still avoid fried foods on those days or I'll spend all my time in the bathroom. After so much time eating well, all that grease and oil just doesn't sit right with me.

Re: Oh, the things I do!

I absolutely love french fries, but can't deal with the side effects even if I don't take Alli. So, when my hunny orders a burger and fries, I allow myself to eat 2 french fries. He'll often try to give me a few more, but I always put them back on his plate.

Re: How to get the whole family to eat an Alli diet ?

The rule when I was growing up was that you eat what's put in front of you. If you don't like it, then you don't get to eat. I've brought that rule to my own home and it's worked well for the most part. The only exception is if the meal is truly horrible and everyone at the table agrees to it. If it sounds good to you, then try it. A lot of the things that are now family favorites were initially sneered at by others. My hunny has had problems with the portion sizes too. If he's

Re: Walgreens age restrictions

I have never heard of that. I would definitely write to Walgreens about the disservice that they are doing to their community. Not only is it an arbitrary rule, but it's costing them money. If you explain to them how much you would have been spending on Alli at their stores and how disappointed you are with their policy they might change it. I'm one of those people who write letters to companies that have policies I don't appreciate. I've seen results in quite a few instances. There

Re: joining a gym

I wish my planet fitness was 24 hours! They're slowly extending their hours as they get more members though. It's a good gym.

Re: A thread to vent in

The Pazookies look sooooo good! My sister says they taste really good too. I've been tempted, but so far I haven't tumbled down that path. I worked out hard yesterday. I was covered in sweat when I was done. Then I went on to research for my 20 page paper due in a few days (nothing like cutting it close), dusted the cobwebs in the house, and did other housework. I ate healthfully all day too! Why, then, would my hunny push so hard for a burger when I made sauteed prawns, baked sweet potatoes
