Yes Betty. I did. I so did. I love lamb. My grandmother used to eat it when she was elderly because she said it was easier to digest. I find the same thing. I have a harder time with beef these days. I also noticed that the dog food prescribed by the vet is lamb and rice. But those loin lamb chops were surprisingly fatty. Funny, because they don't look as fatty as say a beef steak. We're having a rotisseried leg of lamb for Easter dinner and leg appears to be leaner than the chops. So I'll

Yes Betty, thanks. That makes sense. I found that I could "edit" my plan to a 1200 calorie diet on the site and then just add in 110 calories a day quite easily. I am getting good recipe ideas using the 1200 calorie plan. Adding fat back into my daily diet up to the 30% level has been a challenge for me. I'm using "good" fats but because fat grams are more than double the calories per gram. Not as much bang for the buck but I'll do it. By the way, I saw a bargain at the

It's a struggle for all of us. While I agree that Wynnona had a lot more to "lose" putting herself out there as a weight-loss drug spokesperson, I also recognize that she was compensated for taking that risk. If she failed, she has no one to blame but herself. Follow the rules and you'll lose. That applies to all of us. We're all overeaters or we wouldn't be here. Personal responsibility. So dear Wynnona, woops. Now pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over

I posted a few questions above. To summarize.... Age 55 Height 5.5' Weight 195 Lifestyle - I always calculate at "very light" I've lost 40 pounds since January 1, 2008 (over 62 weeks). That's less than a pound a week but some weeks I lost nothing, usually when I failed to log in my food intake (it's so easy to unconsciously "cheat.") Over these last 62 weeks I've used the following website to calculate my calorie limit based on the above data and setting a

Kelli I understand your explanation but what I don't understand is this: On the Alli plan (30% Fat, carbs and protein) at a deficit level of overall calories (500/day lower than our maintenance level), we should be losing about a pound a week. Unfortunately, women have a lot of other factors which impact weight loss in any given week so I like to give myself a break and use the average weight loss for a month (and it BETTER be at least one pound). Assuming the Alli diet alone produces a 1 pound

Thank you Betty. I've read this whole thread and your other on calorie intake. Even though my head is ready to explode from all the information, I really appreciate the suggestions and the calculations you provided. I still have a few questions if you have a minute. First, some background. I've been on a diet since last year (Jan 1, 2008). I lost 30 pounds in 2008 (actually lost 40 by October and then discovered the fried chicken at the local store....bad....so I gained back 10 pounds fast
