Re: my typical Monday "re-start"....

Wow, Betty. Thanks so much. This advice was great. These two ideas have never occured to me. Which is funny because I have been losing/maintaining/gaining weight a long time. It's not often I'm given information I haven't absorbed somewhere else before. Thank you so much. Alicia aka. mommyx1

Re: workout dvds

Any workout DVD that I've bought from The Biggest Loser has been good. They can vary in length and intensity, depending on where you are right now. Also, exercisetv.tv has a lot of great videos. They are fairly inexpensive and sometimes free. (download to computer and then, if you want burn to DVD). I've done several from there. Again, they vary in length and intensity. I especially like two kickboxing sessions that are completely free. At the bottom of the homepage, locate the kickboxing

Re: my typical Monday "re-start"....

thanks girls. great advice. i seem to have the "all or nothing" approach. so diligent and rigid or complete abandon. i have to find a balance. Anita-i did that for awhile. i didn't attend church/family functions and picnics because i knew the food would be too tempting. then, i began going and i would take my own food. people would look at me so weird and say "why are you eating salad". mostly, i'd just like to find the balance. a big mistake i am making right now is that

Re: Looking for friends

Me too. I'm not taking alli, but I am beginning (again) a new healthier lifestyle. Yesterday was my first day. And, it went well. Our user names are similar. Maybe we could be of encouragment to one another. I'd like to lose 40 pounds. I'm trying not to rush it. Otherwise, I will become discouraged. One day at a time.....right?! alicia

Hi...new here!!!

Just checking in and getting the hang of the site. I'm beginning again today. I so want this time to be the last time I "begin again". I lost 100 pounds from October 2006 to October 2007. Forty-nine weeks to be exact. In the last 14 months, I have gained 44 pounds. Lately, I've been feeling as though this is taking over my life. I've felt as though I cannot control the food I eat. It feels bigger than me; and because it does, I continue to grow bigger! I'm hoping to find

Re: Having Trouble Exercising!!

First, congratulations on your weight loss. I can't wait until I can say I've lost 11 pounds. Now, from one exercise "hater" to another, I will offer my advice. I would first suggest you find an exercise you love. There are soooooo many choices, surely you could find one you hated less than another. Kickboxing, swimming, walking, yoga. My next suggestion may be less popular, but I would say just do it! We all know it's good for us. The same as we would take an antibiotic if
