Re: Hi, Im new here and could use some help..

Hi, my name is Rebekah and I have been on Alli for almost 4 months and have lost 42 pounds. It has been a journey. I think what works best for me is to make sure that I eat at my meal times and I give myself a snack in the afternoon (I work until 6 or 7 pm so I need something to keep me going) and anotherr snack in the evening if I want one. Some of things that I might have for breakfst is instant oatmeal w/ skim milk, raisin toast w/ ricotta cheese, 1 poached egg w/ low fat english muffin. If I

Re: Difficult Roommate Situation

Hi, I kind of have the same thing going on to an exstent. My hubby who is very supportive of me losing weight is constantly bringing things into the house that I love but can't eat. Twinkies, little debbie cakes, chocolate chip cookies, cherry pies. Well I think you get the idea. I am the kind of gal who feels that you can't eat just one twinkie. I might even say you can't eat just one box of twinkies. I will admit that I have been extemely good and have turned up my nose at all of this

Re: I seem to have hit a plateau!

Hi, I know how you feel. I started in July 2009 and have for the most part lost 2 pounds a week and then this last couple of weeks i put 3 pounds back on. I did not change anything that i was doing and it just bummed me out so much. Thankfully I dropped the 3 pounds this week and have not done my weigh in yet that is tomorrow and hopefully it will say that i lost somehting this last week. I know that it gets harder after awhile but I want to see the results. With all the time and energy that we put

I did nto change any of my habits but gain back 3 pounds. thankfully I have gotten back down to 184 and tomorrow is my wiegh in. I just hope I drop a little more before I weigh in so I do not go two weeks without weight loss.

YOUR SO LUCKY Ya right!!!

My brother said something to me the other day. i was talking to him on the phone and happened to mention that I lost 40 pounds.(he live very far away) He told me I am so lucky to lose the weight. Right away I set him straight. Luck had nothing to do with it. I have worked very hard. 1. I have changed the way I eat. Very difficult to do especially when everyone is there to sabitage (sp???) you. When you go on vacation with family and they pick all the wrong places to eat. Or fix food that goes against

Re: Please send me your money if you insist on throwing it away.

I found this really neat caloire/exercise counter application for my phone. now i just put in what ever i am eating and it tracks it daily. I have my phone with me where ever i go and it is so handy to just enter the information. I it does not have somehing listed you can always add it yourself. But mostly it has had everything I look for down to brand names of products like a certain yogurt or bread I am eating. You can also put in any exercise stuff in that you like such as walking.ect. Just wanted

Re: On-going daily exercise post support for eachother! Join/leave as you wish.....

I am pretty sure that I have posted once or twice but have been very busy. I started my weight loss journey doing light pilates (which I love) to tone, then went to walking on a treadmill for the aerobic exercise that I know I need to drop the pounds. now that I am down 40 pounds I am able run on the treadmil instead of walking. I am currently up to 1.3 miles in thirty minutes. I have worked myself up to the speed of 4.2 miles an hour. I have been increasing the distance by about a 10th of a mile

Re: Calling all binger's...

Ireally do not know what constitutes bad binging. I say that there have been days that a whole box of twinkies doesn't seem like such a bad idea. We joke at home about how I can't have just one but the funny thing is it is no joke. I know that is why I got over two hundred pounds. I would also binge at night when I was half asleep. I would get up to use the restroom and walk through the kitchen and on the way back to bed I would stop and make a peanut butter sandwich. Since I have been exercising

Re: MOTIVATION

My year 2008 Hi and welcome. All I can do is tell you to do it for you. No other reason. You have to let yourself be worth it. A lot of times we put ourselves on the back burner becaus eour kids need us, our spouses need us, our jobs need us ( are you noticing a theme here) but when it comes time for us to do for ourselves we do not have any energy left over. For me motivation is not enough. One day I am up and want to succeed and charge right ahead and then the next I am so busy and tired I don't

walking verses jogging or running

Hi again, I know that any exercise is good for you but I have a question. I have just started jogging/running depending on how you look at it. And this is a big deal for me. I have always wanted to run but either not wanted it enough to actually do it or so out of shape going up stairs felt like running a marathon. I ran 1 mile yesterday and 1 and 1tenth of a mile today. What I plan is to reach the same distance that I have ran the day before and add 1 tenth of a mile to it until I can run two miles
